These days, maintaining good credit is essential for gaining access to various opportunities, including financial loans. Improving credit can open up better loan terms and options that make it easier to access money when it’s needed.

However, it has become more challenging for borrowers to improve credit in recent years due to tighter lending standards. One of the most common questions that people have these days include, “It is possible to get a loan when you have a poor credit rating?” and “Can I improve my credit score?” Read on to learn more about how to improve credit and secure better loan terms.

What Does Poor Credit Rating Imply?

Poor credit rating implies that you have had or are currently having difficulties meeting your credit obligations. This could be due to late payments, defaulting on loans, bankruptcy, or other financial events. This can create challenges when it comes to accessing a loan from traditional lenders.

Unfortunately, this can lead to higher interest rates and less favourable loan terms, as well as fewer loan options. In general, the lower your credit score, the more difficult it becomes to get financing and secure better terms.

How Can I Improve My Credit Score?

Fortunately, there are steps that can be taken to improve your credit score. These steps include the following:

Check Your Credit Reports

Checking your credit reports regularly is a crucial habit to build as part of a good financial strategy. Keeping track of your credit score not only helps you to understand where you stand in terms of potential financing, but it also helps protect your financial identity. If there are any inaccurate information on your credit report, it could lead to declined loan applications and even issues like identity theft.

Therefore, being aware of what creditors can see and taking regular steps to review can help ensure that your finances and personal information are secure. Make sure to periodically examine the three major bureaus for any discrepancies or negative changes that might be affecting your credit score. Doing this can give you control over crucial financial decisions and ultimately help improve your credit standing.

Make Payments on Time

Making payments on time is essential to keeping a good credit score. All loan agreements, credit cards, and other credit arrangements require you to make payments by an agreed-upon due date. If payment is not made by the due date, it can have serious consequences for your financial health. Late payments are reported by lenders to credit bureaus which damage your overall score, causing interest rates to go up or prevent you from obtaining new lines of credit.

Taking the proper steps to stay on top of due dates helps keep your financial reputation in good standing while also helping create positive spending habits going forward. It’s important to note that even if you’re able to make up a missed payment – and any associated fees – it will take some months before late payments stop appearing in your credit reports and scores, so as a rule of thumb, always aim to make all scheduled payments on time.

Pay Off Outstanding Debts

In addition to making payments on time, paying off outstanding debts can help improve your credit score. The amount you owe is a major factor that influences your credit scores. The less debt you have, the more likely lenders are to approve loan applications and/or offer better terms.

If possible, try and pay off any outstanding balances as soon as possible. Reducing your total amount owed is a great way to improve your credit score and will help you secure better loan terms in the future.

Keep Credit Card Balances Low

When it comes to managing credit cards, it’s important to keep balances low relative to their credit limits. This practice – also known as “credit utilization” – is closely monitored by lenders and influences your credit score.

The lower the ratio between your balance and limit, the more favourable it will be for your credit score. Therefore, if you do have a few cards that are regularly used for purchases, look to keep their balances low relative to their limits to maintain good credit standing.

Don’t Close Unused Credit Cards

It may seem like a good idea to close unused credit cards, but this can actually harm your credit score. Closing an account lowers the total amount of available credit, which can increase your overall utilization rate and negatively affect your score.

Therefore, it is best practice to keep all accounts active and in use, even if only for small charges, from time to time. This will help maintain a healthy credit utilization ratio and give you access to more lines of credit if needed.

Bottom Line

Having and maintaining a good credit score is essential for accessing affordable loans, mortgages, and other forms of financing. By keeping these tips in mind, you can ensure that your finances are always in order, putting you in the best position possible to acquire new lines of credit.

We are in a hot job market.

Companies are scrambling to find the best employees in a tightening labor market, which makes it a perfect time to upgrade from your current spot into a position with better benefits or perhaps the option to continue working from home.

LinkedIn is easily one of the best places to be noticed by recruiters who are scouring the professional social media site for potential new hires.

And, of course, if you apply for a position, you want to be sure the company sees exactly what they are looking for when they visit your profile as part of their screening process.

Working in today’s professional market requires a multi-facet approach. You need to be sure your skills and abilities are top notch and up to date, of course. But you must also create a brand centered on your own skill set and abilities through LinkedIn and other social media markets.

Note: We hired Uttoran Sen for creating this Expert Roundup Post – if you wish to host such expert roundups in your blog, let us know.

LinkedIn is unique among the many other social media platforms. Unlike Facebook or even Twitter, LinkedIn is designed for networking rather than friendship or more general connection and sharing. Your network through LinkedIn is part of your professional package, and it’s also one that is easily monitored and examined by potential employers or employees.

After all, it’s not just the recruiters who are on LinkedIn doing research. If you’re looking for a job, your would-be employers are keeping an eye on your profile. If you’re posting job positions, you can expect your would-be employees to check out your profile as a guide to what they might expect at your company.

Employees and employers are there, but so are marketers and others building a professional online presence through the most professional social media site online.

Whatever your goal through LinkedIn, you want your profile to stand out. We checked in with the experts on the best ways to make that happen.

There are hundreds of millions of LinkedIn users so you want your profile to stand out from the crowd. Instead of writing about your job position, I suggest you tell people directly what you do in your headline. For instance, you could tell the problem you solve.Let me give you an example: instead of saying that you’re a “SEO Specialist”, you could say something along the lines of “I help business owners drive qualified and targeted traffic to their websites. This way, when people find your profile or you outreach to someone, they will know right away what you’re doing.

Understanding your audience is vital for profile creation

Before you even start writing your Linkedin profile, you need to understand what your target audience will be looking for. Are you looking for clients? Are you wanting to build your personal brand? Looking for a job? Answering these questions is important for the next steps. You need to show how your skills and expertise can make a difference. This is where your personal brand comes in. Your brand is the promise that you make to your audience. It is your value proposition in a nutshell.

Your job title and summary are the first things that people will see when people visit your profile. This means that it is critical that the one you use is catchy enough to pique the interest of potential employers. A good job title should contain keywords related to your field. The same rule applies to the summary section. Aside from this, your job title and summary should also contain the kind of environment you would like to work in and mention your desired compensation and location.

If you have any academic or professional qualifications under your belt, you should showcase them. You can even add the certificates you have obtained to your profile. You can also mention your other skills here. These might include foreign languages, computer software programmes that you are proficient in. If your work experience doesn’t have enough oomph to make it to the top of the list, you can link to your portfolio in this section.

Highlight what makes you unique.

In today’s day and age, job hunters are competing with more people than ever. At the same time, technology has allowed many companies to make more money with a smaller workforce.
Therefore, in order to stand out, you should put what makes you unique and exceptionally valuable front-and-center – something that can actually catch a recruiter’s attention within an endless sea of applicants.

Across any industry, it’s those people that are rare, unique and exceptional that end up commanding salaries well beyond the typical market range.

Those with talent, skills or expertise that can’t be found anywhere else will never have a problem standing out to recruiters, even in today’s global job market.

On LinkedIn, sell the job first, then worry about qualifications after that.

LinkedIn is different than your typical jobs posting website. LinkedIn covers the world, which means you have to address geography up front. You have too options. You can hire locally, or you can hire around the world (remotely). If you don’t specify clearly up front, people will make their own (often incorrect) assumptions.

The second thing about LinkedIn is that people on the platform are more digitally savvy than elsewhere. The gap used to be huge, but now it’s much smaller. Still, many LinkedIn users have been networking on the platform for years, something that does not happen on a typical job advertising website. The tech that’s available to them in your job posting is therefore more important to emphasize than elsewhere. The opportunity to connect with others online could also be a selling point.

The third thing is that LinkedIn is the perfect place to poach the best of the best – the people who are employed and happy and don’t know that they want to change jobs. Many of them are there just to network. In other words, focus on the benefits to the potential hire first, then get into the required qualifications. In the real world, the only ways to poach the best employees are through one-on-one connections or cold-calling. On LinkedIn, it’s all part of the networking.

Finally, being active in niche groups helps. If you hire medical administrators from time to time, get active in medical administrator groups. When it’s time to hire, let the group know.

The main purpose of a linkedin profile is to secure a new job, display your professional achievements and build a better career. Just like any other social network, Linkedin too has a profile section which is usualy the first thing your potential employers will look at.

Once you have done the basics, that is adding a professional profile image, a catchy header image that sends the right message and filling up the rest of the profile with relevant information – it is time to start doing the heavy lifting.

There are over 800 Million users in Linkedin, which means whatever your niche, topics or expertise is, you will be able to find relevant connections. Just send connection requests and sooner or later you will start building a following on Linkedin. This is where you need to be helpful to others. If you comment on other people’s achievements, new job positions, pulse blog posts, profile status updates, give out testimonials and endorsements – eventually people will start returning the favor.

In time with all the hard work you will build yourself a digital asset in the form of a strong Linkedin profile.

Take advance of the LinkedIn keywords feature

There are a few things to keep in mind when creating your LinkedIn
profile if you want it to stand out and be effective.

First, make sure your profile is complete and up-to-date. Include a
professional photo, your current position and employer, and a list of
your skills and experiences.

Second, take advantage of the keywords feature to ensure that your
profile is easily found by recruiters and potential employers. Use
keywords that relate to your industry and skill set.

Finally, consider adding a link to your personal website or blog to
your profile, as this can give employers a more complete picture of
who you are and what you have to offer.

7. Rafi ChowdhuryWebsite | Linkedin | Twitter | Facebook | Instagram | YouTube

Ask for and give recommendations

Anyone you work with who is satisfied with your work, ask them to write you a recommendation and do the same for them. Lots of potential employers do look at those and it can make your profile stand out from others when you have endless amounts of recommendations bragging about you.

8. Raelyn TanWebsite | Linkedin | Twitter | Facebook | Instagram | Pinterest

Treat the job profiles you write like a sales letter to the reader.

It may be easy to fall into the trap of listing accomplishment after accomplishment on your job profile and turning the profile into a boring lump of words. The result? It’s a turn-off to the reader.

Instead, write your job profile like how you would write a sales letter! Always start your job profile off with a hook to catch the attention of the viewer. Don’t jump straight into listing things.

Then, write out bullet points and imagine yourself as the “product”. Don’t just state your accomplishments, also talk about WHY they matter.

Lastly, keep paragraphs short and catchy, and cut out superfluous words, just like in a sales letter.

9. Janice WaldWebsite | Linkedin | Twitter | Facebook | Instagram | Pinterest

When crafting your job profile on Linked In, It’s vital that you use keywords. That way, the LinkedIn algorithm pushes out your profile to people they know are interested in that content.

Do not leave any stone unturned. In other words, answer every question in detail. The more you write, the more keywords you use and the quicker your job profile comes to the attention of interested parties.
Also, you need to have a professional appearance in your photo. Use business casual attire. For instance, wear a blazer. This way, a potential employer can see how you’d dress to work. Dress to impress on the job and in your profile picture.

When done, reread your profile from the perspective of a potential employer. Have impartial friends and relatives do the same. Ask if they would hire you. Ask yourself if you would hire you. Follow these strategies to find a job on LinkedIn.

10. Poulomi BasuWebsite | Linkedin | Twitter | Facebook | Medium | Pinterest

A really good LinkedIn job profile goes beyond just being about an employee or professional. It gives insights about who you are, how you think, what you believe in, what your values are, and how to you want to contribute value.

One of the first things to ensure when you create a profile is to make it as complete as possible. Write a clear summary, get recommendations, add your interests and activities.
That being out of the way, get active. Post your thoughts and musings, ask for people’s thoughts on your posts or create polls, share and comment on other people’s content.
When you do all of this, a prospective employer who checks out your profile will get to know how you think, what you believe in, and how you connect to others. That is what creates your personal brand and makes you different from other applicants who apply for the same jobs as you.

11. Michael DinichWebsite | Linkedin | Twitter | Facebook | Pinterest

A LinkedIn headline should be attention-grabbing.

A LinkedIn profile has several essential components that can help a person stand out to potential employers. With headlines visible under your name, this sentence must be concise but eye-catching.

Always edit your profile headline to reflect not just the role you are searching for but also your expertise. Although you only have 120 characters to work with, you should mention any skills you specialize in and an accomplishment or how you can benefit a company.

For example, suppose you are a sales representative. In that case, you can indicate the industry you are targeting and how much money you have generated in sales in your career or a previous role. Always include accomplishments with measurable targets that highlight your performance, such as reaching sales goals, receiving positive customer service feedback, leading new programs or initiatives, etc.

A LinkedIn profile is now as valuable as a well-written resume and cover letter and demands equal attention. Don’t forget to proofread it several times, so it’s free of typos and grammatical errors.

12. Nikola RozaWebsite | Linkedin | Twitter | Facebook | Pinterest

Do everything

To make the best LinkedIn profile, you need to do everything you can to stand out. Why? Because that’s what most people are not doing.

Most people quickly set up their profile by listing their name, their title, and a professional photo of them.
That’s a great start. But you need to keep going much further than that.

Add a professional work-centric background image. Write a professional bio highlighting your achievements, education, and training you had. Connect with your peers in the same industry. List out your credentials. Have a link to your blog, online portfolio, or some other online property you own.
Fight to get endorsements, even if they’re from your friends on LinkedIn. Engage with others on LinkedIn, post valuable content on LinkedIn Pulse…
There are a ton of things you can do to really have a professional LinkedIn profile, and you don’t have to do everything to achieve success, but the more you do, the better off you’ll be.

13. Kent LewisWebsite | Linkedin | Twitter | Facebook | Instagram | Pinterest

Create a compelling Headline

With sales and marketing as my primary responsibility at Anvil, it is my role to network and generate awareness for our brand. After years of testing various platforms, I’ve found LinkedIn is the best platform for brand-building (personally and professionally). For starters, LinkedIn the least tapped in terms of leveraging influencers. Having been a power-users for many years, I’ve become a bit of an expert on the platform and see this as a big opportunity for 2019 and beyond. Secondly, the platform is ideal for business-to-business marketing. There is no other platform that can target prospective customers (or partners) with ads, based on employer, job title, location and other key factors. One of the secrets to effective content marketing on LinkedIn is to use ad targeting to share high quality content as “sponsored content” which is more affordable and generally higher-performing than traditional display ads. Last week, LinkedIn announced interest-based targeting for it’s ad platform which will make it even more powerful going into 2019. Lastly, the platform is ideal for generating awareness and credentials via thought leadership to build your network (posting updates and writing articles on LinkedIn Pulse). Most recently, I’ve been leveraging 1st degree connections for outbound sales efforts, generating meaningful results after just a few months of outreach.

Be your authentic self

If you want to attract people through your Linkedin profile, whether that be employees or possible employers, you want to first come off authentically.

Those who seem too stuffy, overload their profiles with accomplishments, and past positions, and post little on their feeds that show off their true value in their industry don’t say too much to those viewing it.

Think of who you would want to work with. Somebody who seems knowledgable and interested in their job or industry, or someone who comes off very matter-of-fact and, well, a bit dull.

Work profiles don’t have to be boring to be professional! Show off that glowing personality of yours!

  3. Tell your story: In your summary and experience sections, share your unique story and highlight your skills and accomplishments.
  4. Use a professional photo: Make sure to include a professional photo in your LinkedIn profile. This will give employers a great first impression of you, and help you stand out from other candidates.

A LinkedIn profile should be well optimized. Enough to show up first in the search results for your name

LinkedIn is the best tool for service providers to find opportunities, build connections, and grow a personal brand. It’s my second most important tool to get leads and convert clients for my copywriting services.

And I think I’m able to do that because my Linkedin profile is well optimized. My profile shows up in Google search just below my website. Both of them work to add credibility to my work.

So here are some of the places you should optimize well on your LinkedIn profile:

Headline – Your headline should clearly tell what you do but in a bit of an engaging way. For example, my LinkedIn headline is “Freelance B2B Copywriter | Content Writer for SaaS & Marketing brands | Helping brands nurture their target audience.” It’s a bit long but it explains what I do.

Professional Photo – Your profile photo makes the first impression. Add a professional photo with a smiling face and eyes. In the background, you can create a LinkedIn banner on Canva for free to define your services.

About – The about section is to tell your story, not your life history. Use the place to talk about your recent work experiences and projects. Infuse your personality but keep it professional. Nobody on LinkedIn wants to know what you named your dog!

Connections – I’ve seen people sending connection requests to everyone on the “People you may know” section. Don’t do it! It’s not a great first impression. Instead, you should build genuine connections. Start with people you know.

But if there’s someone you admire and want to build a connection with, start engaging with their content. Follow them, like their posts, add comments, share their content, etc. Once they know you, they’re more likely to accept your request.

Go check out a few great profiles in your industry and see how they’re optimized. Take inspiration and work on your profile.

LinkedIn is unarguably one of the best platforms for job seekers, industry experts, professionals in business, and likes.

However, in order to get noticed on LinkedIn, especially as a job seeker, you need to create a good profile that can draw the attention of the kind of people you are seeking to attract.

The first secret is ensuring that you have an eye-catching professional photo and a good background photo.

Secondly, list all your relevant skills, roles and certifications, and explain in detail everything you do, and how it can be of benefit to the organisation you are looking to attract.

Finally, Make sure to attach relevant files, like pictures, videos or links that show your experience. It could be a link to your website or videos or pictures of projects you have successfully worked on in the past.

18. Jake JorgovanWebsite | Linkedin | Twitter | Facebook | Pinterest

Make your Linkedin headline focused on the problem you solve.

Don’t fill your Linkedin headline with a bunch of details about you. Explain the problem you solve for the people trying to hire you. Instead of saying “Customer Service Specialist” say “Helping companies deliver amazing customer experiences”. Your employer doesn’t care about you as much as they care about the problem they are hiring you to solve.

A strong LinkedIn profile can be your key to landing your dream job. Here are our tips for creating a LinkedIn profile that will get you noticed by recruiters.

Your LinkedIn profile is much more than just an online resume. It’s an opportunity to show off your professional brand and network with other professionals in your field.

When crafting your LinkedIn profile, keep the following in mind:

  1. Use a professional photo. Recruiters are more likely to take you seriously if you have a professional headshot as your profile photo.
  2. Write a compelling headline. Your headline should be catchy and accurately reflect what you do professionally.
  3. Highlight your skills and experience. In the “Experience” section of your profile, be sure to include key skills and accomplishments that will demonstrate your value to potential employers.
  4. Make sure your profile is up-to-date and complete. Don’t forget to include a personal description, education history and relevant work experience.
  5. Ask your connections for recommendations. If you have any mutual connections on LinkedIn, ask them to write a recommendation for you.
  6. Finally, take some time to customize your profile for each job you apply to. Include keywords from the job description in your summary and experience sections. This will help you stand out to recruiters who are searching for candidates with specific skills and experience.

20. Umesh SinghWebsite | Linkedin | Twitter | Facebook

LinkedIn is a great place for job seekers. It’s free, it has millions of users and you can easily find jobs that interest you. But how do you make sure your LinkedIn profile stands out?

How do you get noticed by recruiters?

And what should you include in your profile so that it will help you land the right job?
Here are some simple ways to improve your chances of getting hired.

1) Write an engaging headline
Your headline is one of the first things people see when they look at your profile. Make sure it grabs their attention and gets them interested enough to read further. You have 160 characters to work with here (the same as Twitter), so don’t be afraid to use all of them!

2) Include a summary
Your summary is another way to grab someone’s attention. This is where you tell potential employers who you are and why you would be a good fit for their company. Use bullet points to highlight your skills and experience.

3) Add a photo
A picture says a thousand words, and this holds true for social media profiles too. A professional headshot or image from your portfolio will go a long way towards making your profile stand out.

4) Tell us about yourself
This might seem like common sense but many jobseekers forget to mention their education and career history. If you want to set yourself apart from other candidates, write down every single job you’ve had since graduating.

5) Don’t forget to add links
You need to link to your website, blog, and any relevant social media accounts. Recruiters often check these before contacting you, so make sure you’re ready to answer questions about your work.

6) Update your profile regularly
Make sure you keep your LinkedIn profile up-to-date. Every time you change something on your profile, such as adding new information or updating your skills, you’re giving recruiters a reason to come back and take a second look.

7) Get recommendations
If you know anyone who works at the companies you’d like to apply to, ask them if they could recommend you. They may even offer to write you a recommendation letter – which means you won’t have to spend money on a service like Letterbox.

8) Join groups
Groups allow you to connect with other professionals in your industry. Joining groups related to your field will let you stay updated with news and trends in your industry.

9) Follow companies
Companies love to follow other companies. So if you spot a recruiter from a company you’d like to use, send them a message asking if they’d like to follow you.

Make your profile stand out with YOUR unique story.

LinkedIn is a competitive network with millions of resumes. So if you want to increase your chances of standing out, should tell your story rather than just create another “normal profile.”

Good stories engage people and provide your resume with something different and unique that can set you apart.

Your summary section is where you have your chance to tell your own story. This is your most personal piece of content marketing, and it’s well worth the effort.

LinkedIn is a great way to build your professional brand. Your Linkedin Profile will show what exactly you are, your interest, your thoughts, and what you stand for.

Thus, creating a good Linkedin Job Profile is very much important, as you are representing yourself.

Some of the tips, that I would like to suggest to create an interesting and professional profile, are keeping a good profile picture, and writing a good summary about yourself.

Keep updated about your work experience, and add catchy headlines, and skills. Sharing your thoughts will also help you in keeping engaged with the public.

Make use of contrasting yet cohesive colors.

A lot of our decisions are based on visuals, so if your profile looks attractive or professionally done it has a positive impact on your brand.

Using images with contrasting colors that are cohesive helps you stand out. To do this, it’s smart to have neutrals paired with stark colors.

Enhancing your job profile on Linkedin depends a great deal on your brand.

Making sure you highlight your portfolio and experiences with clients and brands is a great start. However, visuals are what pull people in.

Final Thoughts:

Your Facebook profile shows your network who you are casually. Your LinkedIn profile, however, is designed to show your connections who are professionally. Your LinkedIn profile showcases your skills and abilities. It notes your impressive performance at your previous places of employment.

Your profile shows how well you are connected to others in your industry. You can showcase your awards and certifications. You can even showcase your best writing and content through portfolios, links, and posts of your own.

LinkedIn is a social media platform in so many ways, but it is also more. It’s a marketplace designed to bring employees, clients, and employers together for transactional purposes. When you set up your LinkedIn profile, you’re telling the world who you are in the professional world and what they can expect if they connect and work with you.

Your LinkedIn profile is essentially your professional brand. Unlike a company, you don’t have a marketing division to do the work for you. It’s all on you. You are responsible for your brand online, and you can be certain that your colleagues, your connections, and your potential employers are paying close attention to how you present yourself.

It’s hard to gauge just how vital your credit score is, for it affects your life in financial aspects. As society becomes increasingly reliant on credit scores to assess loan applicants, a bad score would restrict you from obtaining even the essentials such as a house.

But how exactly does your credit score affect your life, especially your likelihood of being accepted for a loan? Will a terrible credit score instantly disqualify you for a loan?

To help you realize its importance, here are eight ways your credit score can affect your loan credentials:

Mortgage and Living Space

Mortgage lenders and landlords will always secure their money first before granting property for anyone’s living. If they think you are a bad payer, your application may result in higher rates or get rejected entirely! Thus, your credit score affects access to a good living space.

You may check out bad credit loans to help you secure a home, whatever your financial standing is. Remember that a terrible score does not immediately result in homelessness, so keep your head up and fix your poor credit while searching for available loans.

Utility Services

Utilities include necessary resources such as clean water, electricity, gas, internet, and phone service. They are vital for day-to-day human functioning. Unfortunately, a bad credit score could restrict even your access to these basic needs.

If they deem that you may not pay them back, utility providers are liable to impose security deposits. As with all other businesses, it’s a way to guarantee their money. To you, it would mean more expenses. It could even add to the hassle of improving your credit for future loans.

If you’re having trouble paying your utilities, you can consider borrowing money such as loans for bad credit by CreditNinja.com. Moreover, your credit score can improve just simply by paying your bills on time. So, if you’re in dire need of money, you can always consider this option.

Employment

Yes, employers run credit checks as part of the recruitment process. While they do not have direct access to your credit score, they can still run background checks on your credit history to see if you are financially responsible.

If you have a history of debt and poor credit, prospective employers may look the other way. To them, you spell trouble even as far as embezzlement. Especially in financial or accounting roles – who would want to hire people who cannot handle money?

Insurance

Yet another bad news for folks with poor credit—securing affordable insurance. For car insurance, rates could increase up to 76% based on credit. The more you produce an impression of a bad payer, the more your rates will increase!

Indeed, credentials and financial profile are pivotal. To illustrate, you can reduce your premiums up to 20% for home insurance with just a good credit score. It could become the culprit or saving grace in the success of acquiring life-saving insurance.

Minimal Loan Amount

Naturally, loan providers will not just throw money away with no heed. They have to review possible profits and losses for each insured individual. Companies may label you as a high-risk customer if you have a history of debt reflected in your credit report.

And what comes after is determining the amount of money you can borrow. Because you are a risky investment, lenders may give you just the minimal loan amount. It means fewer losses for them (in the event of repayment failure) but more limited terms for you.

Higher Interest Rates

When loan providers believe that they are lending money to people who cannot repay them responsibly, they will have to enforce protection and secure their investment. A way to do so is to increase interest rates for the loan.

Risk-based pricing allows lenders to charge varying interest rates based on the risk customers pose. People with good credit scores will avail of better terms and lesser interest rates, while those with bad scores settle with the opposite. Indeed, credit score equals trustworthiness!

Declined Applications

If things are no longer up for negotiation, your loan application may go straight to the trash can. Worst-case scenarios could lead to an entirely declined application, if not sky-high interest rates and minimal loan amount.

But always remember that there are still several loans out there for you. Rejection may be a redirection to better loans with superior terms and rates regardless of credit. So don’t be discouraged looking for more loan provisions because of a declined application.

Bad Payer, Bad Impression

In the end, it’s all about putting on the right impression. Good payers will receive the best offers, while bad payers get the short end of the stick. The former is a low-risk, profitable investment, while the latter may be a risky expenditure.

Ultimately, you have reasons for a bad credit score: bankruptcy, debt, or losing a job. But they do not need to define your overall financial history. While impressions are important, they do not last. You have all the time to improve your credit score!

Final Thoughts

As long as you maintain balance and avoid the trap of huge debts, your credit score will never disappoint. Now that you know how it affects your loan credentials, it’s time to move and remedy poor credit to secure life opportunities and financial freedom throughout your life.

The freight forwarding industry is one of the most complex and competitive globally. It has a long history of being a cornerstone of commerce and essential to modern business. However, the industry is also highly competitive and complex, with several challenges businesses must confront to succeed.

In this article, we’ll discuss the advantages of freight forwarding, and despite those, we’ll discuss the challenges of freight forwarding.

Advantages of Freight Forwarding

Focusing on Your Business

To be a business, you must undertake a lot of functions. When you outsource your freight forwarding to a third party, you can devote all of your attention to your business while we handle the logistics. We will govern everything else. When you work with a reputable freight forwarder, your freight will be handled with excellent care and attention, which benefits you even more.

Taking Care of Your Customers

When your business handles the shipment of products for customers, handling these shipments reflects how you operate your business. When you outsource your freight forwarding to a company with years of experience, you can trust your shipments will meet your customer’s standards and be handled with the utmost care.

Getting More for Less

When you outsource your freight forwarding to a third party, you will be able to get more for less as a business owner. You will be able to manage the cost of your freights in this manner, increasing your profit margins. You will also be able to focus more on your own business, increasing your ability to earn more money.

A Better Overall Experience

The experience of your business reflects on you, the owner of the business. When you outsource your freight forwarding, you are outsourcing your business’s expertise. When you use a company with years of experience, you will be able to get more for less and deliver a better overall experience to your customers.

A Smoother Business Process

Freight forwarding is a complicated business that requires many services to successfully and efficiently get products from one place to another. Freight Forwarders offer services that your business may not have the time or ability to handle. You will be able to optimize your business processes when you outsource your freight forwarding to a company that can handle these processes for you.

The Challenges of Freight Forwarding

Despite its many advantages, freight forwarding has its own set of challenges. As if freight forwarding wasn’t already complicated enough, several challenges are common for all businesses in this industry. These challenges affect your business, but they affect your customers as well. Here are some of the most typical challenges facing companies in this freight forwarding industry:

International Regulations

Even if you are shipping between domestic destinations, there are many regulations that your business is subject to. These regulations include everything from customs, monetary restrictions, and food regulations. When you ship internationally, there are even more regulations to deal with. If you are not familiar with all the regulations, it may not be easy to meet your customers’ needs.

Digital Paperwork

Freight forwarding has been around for a long time. The first record of a freight forwarder dates back to ancient Egypt. This means that a lot of the paperwork and contracts are still being done on paper and may be difficult to transfer to digital formats. Additionally, this paperwork is essential and cannot be lost, meaning that it must be appropriately archived. This is an ongoing challenge for businesses and a unique challenge for freight forwarding businesses.

Lost or Damaged Products

One of the most dissatisfying challenges faced by freight forwarders is losing or damaging products. Due to the lack of oversight in the industry, the rates of lost or damaged goods are staggeringly high. The damaged goods may not be able to be used or sold, causing revenue loss to businesses.

Inability to Track Products

When a product is shipped, there are many ways that the customers can track the shipment. Technological developments have made this tracking process quite simple, but different shipments are tracked differently. If your shipping company cannot properly track your shipment, you will not be able to tell when and where the shipment will arrive. This can lead to your customer’s inability to receive their order and can also lead to you losing revenue.

Long Transit Times

The time it takes for the shipments to reach their destination is called the transit time. A long transit time can lead to problems, including late arrival, damaged products, and lost products. Not only that, but if your business has a long transit time, it will be more expensive to ship your products. This can be a significant disadvantage to your business.

How to Face These Challenges?

To overcome freight forwarding challenges, you must be resourceful and determined.

Use the Right Technology

Technology is fundamental in the freight forwarding industry. In fact, without computers and other emerging technologies, the industry would not be able to function. It only makes sense that the most successful companies are the ones that are the most up-to-date when it comes to technology.

Manage Your Materials Properly

Part of managing your materials is making sure that you are using the correct materials. If you use the wrong materials, it can lead to loss of revenue, revenue loss, and even environmental harm. Make sure you are using the standard materials when you ship your products.

Know All the Regulations

Knowing all the regulations that apply to your industry is very important. If you do not know all the rules, you will have difficulty shipping your products. This can lead to a lot of problems for your business, from delays to the loss of revenue. Make sure you are well known for all the regulations in your industry.

Choose the Right Shipping Route and Route Time

Choosing the correct shipping route is another important task. Shipping routes can vary in price and transit time. You need to know if you are getting the best deal or if you will be overpaying for your products. Additionally, you need to see the transit time so that you will be able to tell if something happens.

Minimize Your Transit Time

The transit time for your products is another area where you can save money. Shipping products for a long time can lead to a higher price and potentially damage your products. Make sure you minimize your transit time so that you can get your products to your customers as quickly as possible.

Want to Know How to Get Around This Complicated Stuff?

Choose The Right Freight Forwarder

Freight Forwarders are the ones who are responsible for the logistics of your products. If you have trouble controlling the freight forwarding aspect of your business, then you need to find a Freight Forwarder that will be able to meet your business needs. There are many Freight Forwarders out there that are more than capable of handling your business logistics.

3. Reputation

4. Service

Instagram is a great way to grow your following and become well-known among your niche. It’s also a place where you can build relationships with potential customers, influencers, and even brands that could end up collaborating with you in the future. The first thing that you should know about Instagram is that it’s all about the visual. Most of the posts are images, and only some people will post videos on their feed. What does this signify for your marketing plan? It means that you need to focus on how good your photos look! If they’re not high quality or don’t have a compelling caption, then no one will want to follow you. Luckily there are some easy hacks for getting more followers on Instagram so take these 10 tips with you as we go through them below.

1. Post at least once a day.

If you want to gain more followers then posting every single day is the best way to do it! You can post images or videos, but make sure that they are of good quality and your caption is on point with relevant hashtags.

2. Use popular hashtags in your posts.

Hashtags allow other people who search for those tags to find you so try using them as much as possible! Your photo will be placed under whatever hashtag you use (you don’t even need lots of letters) if anyone else uses that same tag on their posts too. Try searching #InstagramTips or #GrowthHacking for some examples of how it works.

3. Be active on Instagram outside of posting.

Interact with other people’s posts, like them and comment! This will make you seem more likable to your followers so they’ll want to check out what you have to say too. You can even search hashtags that are relevant for your business (like #marketing or #business) and see who is using those tags in their photos. Then like some of their pictures and leave a nice compliment for them – this goes a long way when building relationships online!

4. Use popular apps within the community.

There are lots of third party applications that allow users to grow faster than usual without doing much work themselves such as: Follow-liker, Mass Plan, Instagress, and many more. Make sure to do your research on these apps before downloading them as some of the Instagram rules don’t allow for those types of applications and you could get banned from using their site altogether!

5. Ask for likes/comments

Don’t be afraid to ask someone else to like or comment on one of your photos or videos. There’s no shame in asking a friend (that follows you) if they can also give some feedback; this will make it seem more real and authentic, plus every single new interaction counts towards growing that number higher!

6. Use the bio section effectively

The first few sections in your Instagram bio are visible online, which means you should use this space wisely! Make sure that it has links within so people can click on them and learn more about who you are or where they can go if interested in buying something from your store. You could even include some coupons & discounts as well as other noteworthy information such as: contact info, hours open, etc. If you’re a blogger or vlogger, be sure to add links within your bio so people can click on them and visit your website/blog.

7. Don't be afraid to DM (direct message)

Don’t be afraid to DM those with large followings that will likely respond back! These influences want their name out there too – ask them questions directly related to their business and see if they’ll give an answer in a post or in their own feed.

8. Be consistent with your branding

Your followers should be able to recognize you from the moment they scroll past it in their timeline, so make sure that all of your posts are similar and have the same feel/look! It’s ok if this takes time as practice makes perfect when it comes to getting good at photography & editing photos on Instagram too – don’t give up easily!

9. Don't post too much

You want to keep people’s attention with every single social media post you do, so refrain from posting more than once a day unless your followers are avid Instagram users who will not get tired of seeing your posts all the time!

10. Be creative with captions and descriptions

A lot of people don’t realize that you can edit any caption or description to make it more appealing, so be sure to utilize this feature within Instagram as much as possible when sharing photos & videos! There are some accounts out there who have a great sense of humor and use their writing skills rather than just posting pretty pictures for followers – do what works best for YOU though!

11. Create a "story" within Instagram

You can create your own video story and share it with the world. Just like any other post on Instagram, you’ll need to make an exciting movie then upload it using the ‘Your Story’ button for 24 hours before sending it into the archive where they will remain available forever! To get back at them later just go through their saved highlights or add some extra details that are sure to make people want more.

12. Use polls on Instagram Stories every once in a while

It’s another great way for influencers to connect with their followers, plus people love being able to contribute and have a say about things when appropriate!  People will share these widely which is yet another opportunity that may lead some of those who see your post straight onto your profile page as well; win win!!

13. Try out IGTV (Instagram TV)

This feature was created by Instagram & gives users another opportunity to show off what they’ve got via scrolling videos which are up to an hour long rather than just 15 seconds like on stories. It’s an easy way to grow your following if you have a lot of content on the daily which is good enough for TV, so give it a go and see how long before you start getting some followers!

14. Submit your profile page to "People Are Browsing Here"

Instagram has a search function that allows people from all over the world who are looking specifically for accounts related to what they’re searching for – but sometimes those profiles don’t show up easily unless someone mentions them or tags them in their post/photo etc… For example: If I were trying to find my favorite fashion blogger’s account (which would be mine of course), there probably wouldn’t be any specific hashtags included anywhere within his posts because he’s well known enough that his account shows up whenever I search for “fashion blogger” which is great… but if you’re trying to find an unknown influencer, they may already have accounts set to private so it’s important for them to be tagged in posts or profiles somewhere along the way!

15. Share other people's posts too

This one sounds like common sense but there will come a time on Instagram where all posts by certain hashtags or accounts (that you follow) will appear at the top of your feed and some may get missed along the way… make sure that when this happens, wherever possible, try and repost their content onto YOUR account which not only promotes them but also gives their post more exposure to fans you may not have reached yet!

16. Collaborate

The possibilities are endless when it comes down to this one… if there’s an account that is similar in nature and has a much bigger following than yours, then why not try and reach out? There could be the chance of cross promotion which would definitely benefit both parties involved!! Just remember never ever feel obliged into working with someone because they’re offering “exposure” – stay strong and keep your morals intact at all times as this will allow for organic growth over time rather than fast growth which isn’t always sustainable.

17. Don't Buy Followers

I’m sure this is something everyone has heard at least once in their social marketing journey… if you see an account that has thousands upon thousands of followers then chances are they aren’t real! Now don’t get me wrong, having 100k may sound great on paper BUT when potential fans attempt to find out more information about you by visiting your profile page the likelihood is they won’t be able to find anything outside of maybe a few photos – so rather than gaining new followers for each upload these will soon become lost in the mix! Not only that but if you have bought followers then brands are likely to be suspicious of this too which will eventually lead them down a slippery slope where even REAL fans may find it hard to trust what they see… so keep your account clean and free from fake accounts, please!!

18. Utilize other social media platform

There are so many options out there today when it comes to promoting yourself via social media, one of which is creating an official FB page that has nothing to do with your actual profile as far as the content shared goes… this way you’re able to post photos and updates just like normal without having any issues regarding what’s appropriate/what isn’t on each platform! Just be sure that if you want people who find themselves on Instagram more frequently than not (like myself) then make sure you link this account up to all of your posts in some way shape or form!! – Don’t forget about Pinterest too!!! This can also be used to increase traffic flow towards blog posts similar to the one you’re currently reading right now – just imagine what would happen if other influencers pinned your blog post/images to their accounts or boards? You’ve got yourself a win-win situation here because not only are you increasing the amount of people who find themselves on Instagram, but also creating an opportunity for sales and more brand awareness in general!

Keeping it real. It sure takes a lot of effort to grow your followers but always remember these tips:

There are so many options out there today when it comes to promoting yourself via social media, one of which is creating an official FB page that has nothing to do with your actual profile as far as the content shared goes… this way you’re able to post photos and updates just like normal without having any issues regarding what’s appropriate/what isn’t on each platform! - Be patient.

It takes time for people to get used to your profile and what you’re all about, so don’t be disheartened if it’s not an overnight success story! There are some influencers out there who have been doing this for years who STILL struggle with getting their message across – just keep at it & do the best that YOU can possibly do each day!

- Be authentic.

There’s nothing worse than following an influencer who seems to have the perfect life because chances are that they don’t – I’m not saying this from experience or anything… but you’ll see what I mean when your favorite blogger starts posting less and less over time until eventually there is a gap in their posts for days, weeks etc… then suddenly out of nowhere comes up with a fancy new car/house/wardrobe full of designer labels etc.. yes it’s very nice to imagine that things like these can happen BUT also remember that Instagram isn’t about materialistic items!! It’s much more important to be relatable rather than rich & famous so make sure YOU’RE portraying yourself as such!

- Be creative!

Instagram is a place to be artistic, so use all of your favorite filters, edit photos in different ways with the tools given to you by Instagram itself or through third party apps/software if needed… have fun!! There are so many opportunities for creativity when it comes down to growing your following via this platform – just try not to get too carried away and forget about practicality along the way.

- Don't give up!

This one sounds like a bit of an obvious statement but I have seen people struggle with their accounts for weeks on end before they finally decide that it’s just not worth it anymore… don’t let yourself fall into this category because there IS definitely light at the end of the tunnel when it pertains to growth on Instagram.

- Stay active.

The reason why I mentioned being REAL in the point above is because what you post should be representative of your own personal life – so don’t let it become a chore! Make sure that if something exciting has happened to YOU recently then share it with your audience who are just as likely to have been through similar experiences themselves… this makes for great conversation between followers!!

- Have fun!!

Instagram was created as a place where people can express themselves through sharing photos/videos so enjoy every second of it and make sure that your audience can see how much you love doing what you do!! If they sense even the slightest bit of unhappiness within your posts then this is where people will turn off… so stay happy & be confident in yourself at all times and let nothing bring you down.

Conclusion

It takes time for people to get used to your profile and what you’re all about, so don’t be disheartened if it’s not an overnight success story! There are some influencers out there who have been doing this for years who STILL struggle with getting their message across – just keep at it & do the best that YOU can possibly do each day! Make sure that if something exciting has happened to YOU recently then share it with your audience who are just as likely to have been through similar experiences themselves.  This makes for great conversation between followers!! Have fun!!

Consumer financing is the activity when a business provides financing options to the customers taking the help of a professional financing company. It enables the consumers to purchase a good product or service they remain unable to pay for hard cash or credit card.

Nowadays, credit score plays a vital role in representing the financial health of individuals. Moreover, it helps lenders to get an overview of how efficiently and responsibly you utilize your credit. The higher your credit score is, the more you are likely to get new loans or credits in the future. Another significant thing you must remember is that a better credit score makes it easy to achieve loans with the lowest interest rates available when you acquire them. But it is pretty laborious to improve your credit score. However, we will discuss some easy steps in this article that will undoubtedly help you boost your credit score comfortably. Always remember that building a proper strategy to maintain your wealth is a must to lead a hassle-free and comfortable life.

1. Evaluate the credit score:

Reviewing your credit score will allow you to understand what can help you to improve it. Hence, it would be best to download your credit report first from the leading national credit information companies. Moreover, you can avail a copy of your credit report free of cost once per year from the official website of the AnnualCreditReport.Com. After that, evaluate each of those reports carefully to know what is improving or lowering your credit score. If you observe any issue that can tear apart your credit scores, rectify those disputes immediately to ignore further complications.

What is a credit report?

A credit report defines the comprehensive breakdown of a person’s credit history composed by a credit bureau. Credit agencies gather financial details of a person and prepare his credit reports according to that information. Nevertheless, the consumer financing companies utilize these credit reports with other relevant information to determine the loan eligibility of that applicant. Credit reports cover numerous info like the address, contact numbers, credit history synopsis, and employment details of the loan applicant.

Some valuable factors like on-time payments of EMI, low credit card balance, multiple credit and loan accounts, and less inspection for new credit approval play a significant role in upgrading your credit score. On the other hand, issues like late or due EMI payments, inflated credit card balances, and negative older credit judgments can reduce your credit score massively. Therefore, you must be aware of the factors we mentioned already to maintain your credit score at ease. Besides, you can take the assistance of our Consumer financing department to make your concept clear.

2. Don’t make any delay in clearing your bill payments:

The prime factors that play a vital role in determining an individual’s credit scores are as follows.

   i) Installments payment history.

   ii) Amounts owed.

   iii) Credit history length.

   iv) Credit mix.

   v) Now loan inquiries.

Payment history has a massive impact on credit scoring. It is almost 35% responsible for determining your credit score. Hence, it is essential to pay your monthly installment debts in time. If you clear your payments in time, it will help you to push your credit score to a higher level for sure. However, you can follow our given suggestions by which you can pay off your debts properly without facing any delay in payments.

  • Always keep a record of your monthly bills so that you can track your due payments regularly. This record can be either digital or on paper.
  • Set a notification alarm for due dates. Thus, you will get notified when the due date is near. Most times, borrowers have to pay bounce charges as they could not get any notification about the last date of their monthly bill payments. Hence, you have to resolve this issue at an early stage.
  • You can make use of the automatic online banking system to pay your bills spontaneously from your bank account. Therefore, you don’t have to become confused about funding your account severally. The bank will pay your monthly payment automatically on your behalf.
  • Keep your account funded before the due date to avoid negative credit ratings and bounce charges of late payments.

Another thing you can do is to impose all your monthly installment payments on a credit card if you have one. It works great when you want to cover the full balance with a credit card every month to keep yourself away from the extra interest charges. With this strategy, you can reduce the risk of delay in payments and can enhance your credit score if you can continue it for the long run.

3. Try to use less than 30% credit amount:

In consumer financing, the term credit utilization defines the credit amount you are using within a specific time. It is one of the most significant factors that helps in calculating the credit score of an individual. We suggest you utilize your credit card with a high balance alert attribute to ensure no new charges are being added while your credit utilization is climbing up.

Paying your credit card estimates in full per month is the most convenient way to keep your credit utilization in regular observation. If you remain unable to do that, a decent way is to keep your total credit utilization balance less than 30% of your entire loaning amount. Remembering it, you can aim to trim the percentage down to 10% or less, which will help you boost your credit score efficiently. On the other hand, you can tell your financing authority to amplify your credit limit in order to refine your credit utilization ratio. The more your credit limit increases, the better credit utilization ratio you will get as your total loan balance does not increase here.

Credit card issuing companies provide online application features to the cardholder who want to increase their credit limits. With this feature, cardholders can submit their requests online by updating their annual household income only. The approval process requires only a few minutes if you are eligible. Moreover, you can ask to increase your credit limit over the phone call also.

How does it work?

The credit utilization ratio depends on a borrower’s revolving credit. It is an evaluation that shows the total debt a borrower is using compared with the entire revolving credit that they have got through consumer financing. Keep yourself focused on your current debt to income proportion while managing your credit amounts. This proportion includes both revolving and non-revolving credit. Furthermore, it might appear to be a significant factor during the submission of your credit application. You must try to keep your revolving credit utilization below 30% for a better credit score.

How to evaluate the credit utilization ratio?

If you want to evaluate your credit utilization ratio, you need to gather all of your credit cards. After that, add the current balance of all of your credit cards. Then, sum up the credit limits of all of your credit cards. Once you have done this, the next step is to divide your total credit balance by the credit limits summation. Then multiply the results by 100 to find out your credit utilization ratio. Thus, it is pretty simple to calculate your credit utilization ratio.

For instance, the three credit cards you have with you are as follows.

Card-1: Credit limit $4000 and available balance $1000.

Card-2: Credit limit $10000 and available balance $3500.

Card-3: Credit limit $9000 and available balance $4500.

The total credit limits across all the cards is $4000 + $10000 + $9000 = $23000. Now, the total used balance is $1000 + $3500 + $4500 = $9000. Hence, the credit utilization ratio is $9000 ÷ $23000, or 39.13%.

4. Combine all your debts and make use of credit monitoring to analyze your progress:

i) Debt consolidation

You can take the help of a debt consolidation loan from a bank to clear all the payments whether you have lots of consolidation debts. After that, you have to clear one payment only. You can repay your debt quickly and steadily if you can avail of loans with lower interest rates. It will undoubtedly improve your credit utilization ratio and can as well enhance your credit score accordingly.

Another strategy of consolidating multiple credit card balances is to pay them back with the help of a balance transfer credit card. Credit card balance transfers are for the borrowers who want to shift their owed account into a credit card with the lowest interest rates and more advantages. The most satisfying thing is these cards often provide a promotional period in which you can avail loans with 0% interest rates on your current balance! But, you must be conscious of the balance transfer charges that might cost you up to 3-5% of your transferable amount.

ii) Track your credit score changes:

If you want to check how your credit score is changing, nothing can be better than credit monitoring services. Most of these services are free and keep an eye on the changes of your credit report. Moreover, they can allow you to access top-notch credit information companies to have your credit score updated. Thus, you can easily track the credit changes in your paid-off account or a recently opened credit account.

There are numerous high-quality credit monitoring services available that are capable of preventing your identity theft and fraudulence. Moreover, these credit monitoring services can track changes to the creditworthiness of the credit card holder and can alert them if any malicious incident happens accordingly. For instance, you will get a notification regarding a new credit card account reported to your credit file that you have not opened by yourself. Then you can take the assistance of the credit card company to report it as a fraud.

5. Handle the delinquencies with your old account:

The age of your credit account’s credit portion defines how many days long you are using your credit accounts. The older your credit account is, the more you are eligible as a lender. Hence, never close your old credit accounts, although you are not using them. These accounts might appear to be significant to improve your credit utilization ratio, as the credit history of these accounts would stay in your credit report. Thus, deactivating credit cards when you have balances on your other card will turn the table in your favor.

Delinquency rates are calculated as a percentage of credit accounts/ balances for a specific time due for personal loans, credit card loans. If you have a delinquent account, try to clear it up as soon as possible. Besides, if you could not pay your monthly bills multiple times or missed payments somehow, prepare yourself for making future payments within the particular time. However, it won’t delete your past late payment records but can polish up the payment history that you are carrying forward.

Having a charge-off on your credit history means serious consequences for your credit record. It might cause a massive negative impact on your future borrowing eligibility. Therefore, it is important to determine whether you pay back your charge-offs accounts in full or ask your creditor to perform a mutual settlement. You should know that remunerating collections or charge-offs in full can improve your credit score moderately. Otherwise, the financing authority might impose bankruptcies due to several negative account remarks on your credit report for seven to ten years.

Conclusion

You must be aware of improving your credit score if you have a plan to apply for a loan in the future. Nowadays, having a credit card is essential to apply for a personal loan regarding purchasing a new car, buying a new flat, or getting cash back for emergency expenses. It takes a few weeks or months to see the impact on your credit score when you take the correct steps we mentioned above. Besides, you might need practical suggestions from our expert consumer financing help-desk team to remove the negative impacts from your credit history. Data cleaning is the process of improving the quality of data to improve its value so that their usage would increase overall productivity and revenues. Simply put, this process is concerned with the fact that the information is correct and consistent because it is connected with its usability.

An incorrect information or corrupt entry can result in misleading information, which later leads to inflexible strategies or decisions.  With data cleaning solutions, you can come across these problems.

This is why the highest quality information is ensured, no matter what type or size of data you work with.

What is the purpose of data cleaning?

As the consistency and accuracy of data are valuable, various organizations or researchers or people focus on clean data. As their dynamics differ, it’s difficult to have accurate digital details. Sometimes, migration, import, export and transfer of files make changes to the data structure. These all impact its usability and understandability. Data cleaning process prevents this happening. It helps in determining corrupted entries and errors from occurring.

With the advent of AI and data science tools, it’s extremely easy to filter out redundancies or odd details to translate them into an accurate insight. The tools for web scraping and then, pushing pooled datasets into ETL automate the entire process.

With some exceptional manual quality testing, imperfections are converted into accurate datasets. In short, this processing comes with a ton of benefits for users.

What benefits?

Here is a roundup of some benefits, put in some points:

  • The database becomes error free, which is compulsory if the data are collected from multiple resources at a place. The oddities can never let analysts and researchers to conclude the correct result. This is where it proves incredible.
  • It impacts the efficiency of your team, outsourcing data cleaning services providers quickly get the database corrected. It is simply because they are professionally trained and experienced to take up and come across these types of challenges. The quick delivery makes faster execution of related tasks.
  • Minimal errors lead to effective decision-making, which makes customers happier. Gradually, that relationship turns into loyalty.
  • This process empowers users with the proactive use and control of that data. The cleansing experts measure its effectiveness and refine it to such extent that the end user quickly gets to know the essence or decision.

How does this data cleansing process take place?

It sound simpler, but it’s not that much easy. The entire efforts would turn out in zero payout if you don’t know what you want to achieve through it, or, what you expect from the consistent details. So, the goal must be assessed prior.

The next big thing is strategy making. It guides you to move to the next level, which is determined as per standard. Outlining where to focus at a time can benefit a lot.

You can start setting a sequence by brining all stakeholders around the table together. Then, ask for the valid steps to think and define.

Steps involved in cleansing data

As per a global standard, this practice moves around these steps:

  • List down errors

A listing of common errors or error trends can win you half the battle. The rectification will take half of the total time that one takes without enlisting them. This is why chatbots or AI-driven applications are able to quickly address users’ problems. The preset records allow filtering errors in no time.

  • Standardize your process

It is a way to define the whole process, which scale from assessing goal to defining the last milestone to pass through. This step is mainly dedicated to remove errors of all types, such as typos, incomplete and odd data, wrong entries and short details or missing information, which help in getting rid of redundancies.

  • Check for accuracy

As you clean, it is necessary to verify accuracy. The researchers and analysts employ automated tools and bots to clean them in a real-time. Fortunately, most of these tools are powered by AI and ML that work on the tested models. So, testing results would be effective.

  • Filter out duplicity

It’s imperative that double entry error would be a disaster. Besides, you waste some valuable minutes or hours a day in processing them. This tiresome job is to be repeated when the filtering of odd values is done. Get off this situation by analyzing conditions that result in duplicity. It can end the struggle of hours for capturing unique values.

  •  Analyze your data

Once your data is completely clean, verify details. You can hire any authorised third party or an outsourcing company to make it happen. They have some resources to verify the authenticity of details in no time from the first part web resources.

  • Coordinate and communicate

The advent of new trends and tools is shifting its processing. It’s transforming with the introduction of new protocols. You need to stay updated with the new trends and updates. Coordinate with the team and the customer to prevent the re-work. Keep your team in the loop so that you can develop and strengthen CX strategy.

Last, but not the least thing is monitoring. Regulate reviews of the entries to take place in a defined timeframe.

Summary

Data cleaning is the process of translating any set of information into a verified and consistent detail. Its purpose is to provide clean and consistent data for analysis and making strategies that are feasible and impactful. Wrong information can reverse the impact and results in irreversible losses.

Employees are often identified as being the most important assets that a company can cultivate. This is certainly true – and in far more consequential ways than many business owners take into account.

Branding is a constant consideration for business leaders, but many branding strategies gloss over one of the most powerful catalysts for building and maintaining a strong image: employees. This article lays out why employees are so important for any branding effort before unpacking some of the ways in which employees can be best prepared to advocate for a brand.

Why Are Employees So Important For A Brand?

Effective branding campaigns cannot be undertaken without the cooperation of everybody within a business. Branding is not just an exercise in graphic design or copyrighting. Successful branding efforts embrace the totality of a business. A good brand has a basis in sound ethics, aesthetics, and concepts. Everything from the design of packaging to the way customers are treated has to align with the broad aims a company has in each of these themes. Employees play a vast role in achieving total brand cohesion. Here are a few reasons why:

1. They Are The Public Face Of Your Business

When a customer interacts with your business, they are rarely face-to-face with an executive or strategist. Customers interact almost entirely with lower-level employees. Employees bear the brunt of customer dissatisfaction. They can spot the ways in which customers react to branding and, for many consumers, are the main representative of a brand. Good business intelligence is never gathered from just one source. A hybrid dataset sourced from employee testimony, consumer feedback, and market data provides a much better picture of how your branding efforts are doing.

2. They Can Improve Customer Retention

As AJ Agrawal pointed out in his 2016 Forbes feature, branding is absolutely key for achieving customer retention. Customer retention is very reliant upon the interactions that consumers have with the employees that help them in shops, on the phone or over the internet. Retaining customers is just as important as gathering them, and branding plays a huge role in keeping customers on side. Customers are likely to stay with a company if they can identify with the ethics, aesthetics, and concepts exemplified by staff members – and by extension, the brand that those staff members advocate for.

3. They Can Pass On Valuable Information

Employees are your eyes and ears on the ground. Your branding efforts should be adaptable. If something isn’t working out, employees might be the first people to notice. The qualitative feedback on branding efforts that your employees can offer you is priceless. Of course, you’ll need to incentivize feedback by removing any negative stigma associated with reporting failures. Suppose employees feel like they will be disciplined or dismissed by reporting failures in brand implementation. In that case, they will rarely come forward with any useful information about the things your business is getting wrong. Your relationship with your employees should be reciprocal to some degree. Both you and your employees need to proactively listen to one another. One way relationships make for poor working environments and poor communication regarding areas of branding that need to be tweaked or binned.

4. Employees Are Trustedmation

Employees are by far the most trusted advocates for your brand, according to the 2013 Edelman Trust Barometer. Members of the public trust the information given to them by employees more than information distributed by CEOs, PR teams, and even business founders. People working on the ground who are able to share a perspective with consumers to some degree are – quite rightly – seen as good sources of information. Consumers are wary of business leaders and public relations executives because they are wary of their motives and know that deception and hyperbole have been the stock in trade for these people in the past. On the other hand, staff members are seen as having a high level of accountability due to dealing directly with consumers every day.

Trust is an immensely important element necessary for the successful building of a brand. Trust in a brand is crucial in the cultivation of brand loyalty, which is more often than not the factor that decides whether a business has a long and prosperous future. Employees are the trustworthy faces that you need to nurture if your brand is to flourish. Trustworthiness should be baked into your branding efforts from the very outset of planning. You’ll need your employees to exemplify this.

5. Areas To Focus On

After reading the first half of this article, you’ll probably agree that your employees are crucial advocates and agents for your branding efforts. How, then, should you try and cultivate a positive employee-assisted brand? You’ll need to focus on six key areas if you want to make the most of your critical assets: the people that work with you. No one method creates a robust and trustworthy brand. Long term branding strategies need to involve multiple strands of training, equipping, and facilitating employees.

6. Their Clothing Can Embody Your Brand

Clothing has long been one of the cornerstones of employee-centred branding. Medieval guildmembers would frequently wear badges embroidered with their maker’s or merchant’s marks so that they could be identified as trustworthy by members of the public. The first employee uniforms that we would recognize as modern were styled after military and public service clothing types. This kind of uniform is still in use by air stewards and train staff around the world today.

Businesses with public-facing employees should take a long hard look at their branding and find a way of incorporating it into the clothing of their staff. A construction and engineering company, for instance, could commission custom Helly Hansen workwear for its staff. The rugged, practical nature of workwear exudes trustworthiness and practicality when worn as part of a uniform. Likewise, a sporting goods shop could do a great deal worse than dress its staff in the latest gear sold in stores.

Some uniforms can be much more varied in the way that they represent a brand. Sometimes, a perceived lack of staff uniform can advance a branding effort. A great example of this tactic is the uniform policy of Urban Outfitters, who have a very loose clothing policy geared towards allowing staff to express themselves stylishly. Stylish and individual expression is part of the Urban Outfitters brand, and therefore the staff act as brand ambassadors by expressing themselves using their clothing. Retailers can think outside of the box when it comes to representing their branding efforts in the clothing of employees.

7. Their Clothing Can Embody Your Brand

Medieval guildmembers would frequently wear badges embroidered with their maker’s or merchant’s marks so that they could be identified as trustworthy by members of the public. The first employee uniforms that we would recognize as modern were styled after military and public service clothing types. Stylish and individual expression is part of the Urban Outfitters brand, and therefore the staff act as brand ambassadors by expressing themselves using their clothing. Retailers can think outside of the box when it comes to representing their branding efforts in the clothing of employees.

8. Brand Training Is Crucial

Your employees can’t be of much use to your branding efforts if they are unaware of exactly what you are trying to achieve. A recent Gallup poll found that only 41 percent of American employees were completely sure what their company stood for and what made their company brand stand out from competitors.

If you really want your employees to be ambassadors for your brand, you need to be willing to spend time and money training them. Prepare brand training materials for your employees just as diligently as you would prepare a brand outline presentation for investors or collaborators.

Interestingly, the Gallup poll revealed that businesses in industries where employees had lots of consumer contact were more likely to have staff that were not aware of branding objectives. This is quite obviously not ideal. The more an employee comes into contact with the public, the more prepared to represent a brand they should be. Preparation starts with training – you cannot expect employees to blindly guess the objectives, aesthetics, and ethics of your branding.

Brand training also helps you retain the best staff in your organization. Large organizations often pour resources into employer branding, which is the way a company presents itself to employees. The more an employee is on board with your branding efforts, the more likely they will be to find purpose in their work, which creates a more proactive working environment.

9. Interpersonal Training Goes A Long Way

Branding efforts are not just visual affairs. The way in which your employees interact with members of the public on a personal level can be just as important in the cultivation of strong brand identity as anything tangible. Interpersonal skills affect business culture all the way from the highest to the lowest levels. Branding is, at the most base level, about connecting with people. This is why emotional branding is so incredibly successful. Staff training for brand advocacy should not only focus on the kind of things you are trying to achieve with your branding. An element of training should focus on the interpersonal skills that will help your employees carry out communications with consumers in a way that truly captures the essence of your branding.

10. Activate Your Employees On Social Media

Your employees should be perfectly placed to be the mouthpieces of your organization on social media – an incredibly important realm for the advancement of a brand. Social media is a huge new fertile field for branding. Online platforms are digital spaces where consumers and businesses can be in direct communication with each other. Online culture frames public reaction to branding efforts. Hoffman’s frame theory can help unpick the way in which online culture and conversation can set the tone of a public’s reaction to branding. It concerns the development of prejudices towards concepts and the expression of these prejudices within interactions. Frame theory is an interesting way to approach online reactions to branding. Your employees should be aware of how their interactions on company social media help change the frames people use to develop an opinion on branding.

Employees should also be briefed on the things they shouldn’t do on social media. Employees logged on to company social media accounts can wreak huge amounts of damage to a brand by posting derogatory statements, breaking customers’ confidentiality, and deleting important messages. Most large companies now require employees with social media access to sign an agreement on what they can and can’t do when logged on to company accounts.

11. Positively Affirm Branding Successes

Positive affirmation is a necessity if you want your employees to advance your branding efforts. Employees will quite rightly stop caring about the success of a branding effort if they feel disconnected from its success. Brand advocacy should be a supporting factor when considering employees for promotion into management roles. Consumer success stories should be displayed on company property to motivate staff members and provide them with examples of brand advocacy. Avoid patronizing employees by constantly shoving other people’s success down their throats. If you have picked the right staff members, they will be able to make intelligent decisions about representing your business in their own way.

12. Allow Personal Discovery And Expression

Interestingly, some of the best branding results come from a personal expression of identity instead of corporate. This, at least, is the crux of a recent report published by Administrative Science Quarterly. The report indicates that employees best represent a brand and help with brand identity when they are allowed to develop an authentic relationship with it. This means that there needs to be an accepted plurality of experience amongst employees: they need to be able to work out – and express – their own association with a brand. This does not mean that employees should not be fully briefed on the ethics and aesthetics that drive a branding effort. Instead, employees should be given the space to express the aims of the branding effort as individuals.

Allowing employees to express their own individual expressions of your business’s branding can, of course, backfire. Care needs to be taken to facilitate expression within the bounds of your company message. The happier an employee is at work, and the more comfortable they feel with your branding efforts, the more likely they are to express genuine and positive individual reflections of what you want to convey.

The points discussed in this article are some of the ways how your employees can aid and improve your branding efforts. Be sure to utilize your staff to help your branding spread and, as a result, grow your business.

Auction businesses present extraordinary opportunities for consumers to buy and sell items quickly. The auctions allow them to set a base price for the listings and allow buyers to purchase the item according to who places the highest bid. Companies that operate these auction sites generate earnings by charging a fee for each item sold on their website. When starting an auction website, there are five things that all auction website owners need to get started.

Auction Software to Process Payments and Store Data

The business owner needs software that processes payments, stores data, and tracks each auction. It is vital for the business to keep up with the progress of all auctions and the final sale prices.

The data shows them how much the payments are and where to ship the items once the auction ends. The business owner can manage the auction website more proactively with the right software. If you need software for your auction website, start by contacting a vendor now.

A Sustainable Website

The business must also have a sustainable website that is easy to expand. Once they start an auction website, it must scale fast to accommodate more auctions and users. Once it grows in popularity, the owner must ensure adequate bandwidth for the website, its connections, and the users.

Auction websites are popular and give consumers great opportunities to purchase high-quality items for less. It is critical for the business owner to ensure that the website can accommodate a growing number of users and user accounts.

Your Own Domain and Hosting Services

When setting up the website, the business owner must choose and register their own domain. After they choose their domain for the website, the business owner must set up hosting services for their website and domain.

With the packages, they get low-cost services that monitor the website and its functionality, reliability, and accessibility. The company gets a full off-site staff to manage the security of the website and ensure that it is available to all users.

Rules and Guidelines for Users

The auction website owner must set up guidelines, terms and conditions, and rules for all users. The policies define what is and what isn’t allowed on the website. They must explain reasons why users can be removed from the website and why the company could suspend their user account. The details provide guidance for all users and prevent unwanted circumstances.

A Marketing Plan

A comprehensive marketing plan helps the auction website owner drive more traffic to their website. They place ads online to attract more customers and use social media to advertise their website. They can add search engine optimization to improve the website rankings on the search engine results pages.

They will also need a way to measure the success of each marketing campaign. Any campaigns that aren’t performing as expected are changed according to what elements are appealing to the target audience. By adding SEO, the website owner could see major improvements in their rankings and increase their conversion rates.

An auction business could generate incredible residual income by charging a fee per sale on its website. They offer a chance for users to sell or buy products on the website. The design allows the business owner to accommodate a large user base at once and processes payments quickly. With the right design, website owners won’t have to maintain their own inventory and generate incredible earnings.

Your home’s property value is one of the largest assets you can ever own. Unfortunately, much of that value is tied with how attractive your home is to other people. You have to make the right improvements and install the perfect additions if you want to not only keep but improve your home’s property value.

One area you can pour your attention to is your lawn and backyard. According to experts, lawn improvements can add anything from 5 percent to 12 percent of your home’s value to its market price. Contrary to what you may think, improvements to your yard don’t always have to require the help of professional lawn and landscaping services.

Beginners can make improvements to their yard that can be just as charming as privet hedges and ornate gazebos.

Below are 6 lawn improvement ideas that are perfect for beginners. Each one can help boost the property value of your home without costing too much.

1. Mulch Beds Around Trees

Trees may seem very hardy, but they can be especially delicate to temperature and moisture. This is especially true when they’re young. You can make your trees flourish and look more attractive by plantings a ring of mulch around the base of a young tree. This can help protect the soil beneath from the effects of extreme temperature, retains more water and stops unsightly roots from poking out of the soil.

2. They Can Improve Customer Retention

3. Create a Cozy Corner

Every lawn and garden needs a focal point. For some, these can be elaborate swimming pools or ornate gazebos with daybeds and swings. However, your cost-effective garden improvement can settle for a cozy corner. Find a part of your garden with perfect shade and some privacy. Transform this corner into cozy space by adding garden furniture like a reclining chair, park bench or outdoor coffee table. Finally, surround the area with tall plants or hanging vines to give it a secretive and rustic appeal.

4. Lay Down a Path

Foot traffic can be the bane of any lawn and meticulously planted flower bed. Your lawn can benefit from a sturdy and permanent stone path. These can be laid down in an afternoon and accentuate your lawn. You can link points of interest around your backyard with flagstone paths and ensure safe passage across your property. You can use cheap cement slabs if you’re on a budget, but you can also splurge on rough, natural looking flagstone slabs if you want a fancier appearance.

5. Install Edging

Flower beds can grow rampant without proper boundaries. Not only will they look unappealing, weeds and animals can also trample your precious plants. Edgings are the perfect solutions for such problems that will also let you improve your lawn’s appearance. Edgings can be as simple or elaborate as you want them to be. You can just pile up a few layers of bricks and call it a day. Or you can make them a little more eye-popping by using large seashells or even broke up pieces of rock for more naturalistic designs.

6. Plant Islands

Most backyards and lawns don’t take advantage of their space and instead cram all the vegetation near the borders of the property. Not only does this rob your garden of so many possible designs, it can also lead to disputes with your neighbors about dead leaves and encroachment. You can solve these issues by transferring some of your plants into islands all along your lawn. You can confine each island of vegetation with decorative edging and connect them with winding stone pathways. This makes your garden look more interesting than a giant square of grass.

7. Rely on Hardy Plants

If you want to spruce up the vegetation around your garden, you may be tempted to use exotic plants and rare ornamental shrubs. However, these plants tend to be very expensive to cultivate and maintain. They can also quickly sicken and die if they aren’t grown in the perfect conditions. Instead of using these finicky plants, you should instead look for attractive but hardy vegetation from your local area. These plants are better suited for your conditions, and they don’t require a lot of time or money to coax into full bloom. Local plants also don’t disrupt the ecosystem because they already belong to the environment.

Your lawn is one of your property’s greatest assets. Ensuring that it looks great and appeals to potential buyers is something anyone can achieve, even if you don’t have any formal training in landscaping. These simple but effective methods for improving your lawn can make sure your house’s property value increases instead of plummets.

In the last 20 or so years, the internet has completely transformed the way modern businesses market and promote themselves.

From websites to social media channels, online marketing and Search Engine Optimization (SEO), digital marketing is now the promotional foundation for most firms and the primary way they attract new customers and expand into new markets.

Whether you’re just starting out – or even if you’re already fully established – navigating the unfamiliar territory of the world of online marketing can often seem a daunting prospect. However, with more of us than ever using the web to find products, services and companies it’s never been more important to have your firm’s digital marketing on point.

Below are a few tips for how you could improve your digital marketing and start taking advantage of the considerable opportunities that exist online.

Engage with social media

Business owners often take a dim view of social channels like Facebook or Twitter, considering them the preserve of angst-ridden teens but, in truth, social media promotion can be one of the most engaging (and certainly most cost-effective) ways to spread your message and get your company noticed.

Take time to craft your social pages so they include as much about your firm as possible – and remember to post regularly to attract the attention of users. Also, if you’re a start-up, it’s always a good idea to ask for the support of friends to get your follower numbers up in the early stages.

Remember, too, the all-important best times to post on social sites (they’re all different) to ensure your posts receive the maximum exposure.

Think of your emails as a representation of your company

Your company’s branding is essential and should carry through everything you publish – including every email you send. At the very minimum, you need to include your full contact details, web and real address and some form of legal disclaimer but, for real impact, also think about using email signature software services like those provided by rocketseed.com

Email signature services allow you to incorporate a little more design flair into your emails to help them stand out and promote your company in the best light possible.

Optimize your website to be found easier in search engines

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the highly detailed and intricate process used by web marketing experts to propel websites further up Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs). As Google accounts for a staggering 92.24% of all online searches when experts talk about ‘search engines’, they’re really referring to Google and it’s essential you rank highly with this particular platform.

No matter how great your site is, if it isn’t being found in searches, it won’t be performing a useful function for your firm and giving you a reasonable Return on Investment (ROI). To see the best results from SEO, you should look to engaging the services of a professional online marketing firm.

Update your web content regularly

Your users – and Google for that matter – like nothing more than original, fresh and engaging content. Updating your site regularly with new features, articles, corporate news and company innovations is a sure-fire way to keep your audience engaged and coming back for more.

Speech recognition software is no longer reserved for science fiction moves. This technology has changed how the world operates on a daily basis. Users can tap into voice recognition via mobile phones, tablets, laptops, smartwatches, and even at-home assistants. As speech recognition evolves, it will continue to have a lasting effect on a broad range of industries.

There are countless implications for speech recognition software in all sectors. Dialogflow solutions at Nu Echo is just one option that uses an AI platform to produce immediate responses and improve audience engagement. These industry examples demonstrate how voice recognition software is the future of the workplace:

HR and Marketing

Much of the day-to-day operations in HR and marketing rely on recurring work. There’s no reason for employees to jump through hoops to send out the same information repeatedly. Speech recognition technology makes this work much less redundant, giving workers more time to focus on other matters.

HR professionals, for instance, can use voice recognition to search through candidate databases. This advantage lets the average HR department screen applicants much quicker than before. Similar benefits can be seen in marketing. Professionals can turn to AI technology to schedule social media posts, launch campaigns, and create reports.

Retail

Voice recognition software in the retail industry is highly advantageous. It frustrates consumers whenever they can’t find what they need in stores. Most would rather order products in as little time as possible. In 2020, consumers spent $900 billion more shopping online.

How will speech recognition improve retail shopping? It gives consumers the ability to make impulse and repeat purchases without lifting a finger. Shoppers can place an order with a simple command. Amazon already relies on it to recommend choice products, and other retailers have followed in its footsteps.

Finance

According to Statista, over 1.9 billion people worldwide actively relied on online banking services. Experts expect this number will surpass 2.5 billion by 2024. Now is the perfect time for banks to implement speech recognition technology.

Voice commands make it easy for consumers to check account balances or transfer funds. What if someone has a question about their account? AI chatbots help lead consumers in the right direction. As voice recognition becomes standard in the finance industry, standing in long lines at the bank will become a thing of the past.

Public Transportation

Third-party public transportation apps have become the norm. Companies, such as Uber and Lyft, want to make it as easy as possible for customers to get around town. That’s why most of these apps rely on speech recognition software.

If someone needs a ride downtown, they can book a driver with a simple voice command. Some can even provide traffic updates and give directions. As the technology continues to improve, it can recognize consumer patterns and make recommendations. Best of all, no one will have to stand in the rain to hail a taxi.

The Future Is Voice-Activated

Speech recognition software relies on artificial intelligence to create realistic, human-like responses. Not that long ago, this type of technology was only fathomable in the movies, but developers found a way to bring it to life. Why is voice recognition so popular? It puts the user in control, saves time, and personalizes queries. As this innovative technology continues to evolve, it is sure to become commonplace in all industries.

If you’re getting ready to take the CPA exam, chances are you’re spending a good portion of your time panicking or banging your head against your desk repeatedly. The sensation of pure, unadulterated panic starts to bloom in your stomach as you realize you’ve been studying for hours and you haven’t retained any of the last 50 pages you just read.

However, studying doesn’t have to be like that. With some tips and tricks, you can cut your CPA exam study time in half. Don’t think that “cut in half” really means “a few hours”; studying for the CPA exam takes a great deal of time, effort, and hard work. But, there’s a difference between working smarter and working harder. These tips will help you work smarter, so you can utilize the most efficient studying techniques instead of wasting time.

Use the Right Tools to Study

The number one secret that will cut your study time in half is to sign up for a CPA Exam Program. Unless you have a photographic memory (and most of us don’t), signing up is a necessity, not a luxury. Choose a comprehensive, intensive course that will give you excellent value for your money and offer study guides and resources to use at home, too. The tools and skills you will gain from a CPA exam prep course will be invaluable when you finally take the exam. The right CPA prep course will give you the tools you need, help you grasp theoretical concepts, and then teach you to apply those concepts and tools to practical problems on the exam.

Make an Attainable Study Plan

Many people are tempted to make overly optimistic studying plans that include 20 hours of studying each day, followed by 8 hours at work, and then another 10 hours of studying at night while simultaneously sleeping. Crazy studying plans like that just don’t work-;so don’t overload yourself by making unrealistic studying goals and then feeling lousy when you can’t keep up. Set goals that challenge you but are still attainable. If you don’t, you will burn out very quickly, and that’s not how you pass the CPA exam. If you think that you won’t have enough time between now and your scheduled exam date to study thoroughly, it might be worth considering rescheduling for a later date.

Take the time to sit down and look at your personal schedule. How much free time do you have? How much can you commit to studying? Are you willing to cut out some social time and devote that to studying? Effective time management is a vital part of studying, but it takes real commitment because there’s no doing it halfway. If you want to succeed, you must be willing to put the time aside and study even when you don’t feel like it. Work out a studying schedule that doesn’t extend yourself. Burning the candle at both ends never helped anybody succeed.

Don’t Spend Hours Retaking Practice Tests

Practice tests are a valuable resource; there’s no denying it. However, taking them over and over again trying to get a perfect score is counter-productive. The important part is not getting a perfect score or even over a 90% on the practice tests. Many people try to “memorize” the answers so that they can get a high score. The point is to understand the underlying concepts, take the same techniques and methods, and apply them to the actual exam.

Put in the Time and Effort to Study for the CPA

Studying for the CPA exam is something that takes hard work, time, and commitment. However, you don’t have to spend hours studying for the exam and going over the same material repeatedly. The number one secret to cutting your studying time in half is signing up and attending a CPA exam prep course. It’s a proven method of learning the tools and skills needed to pass the CPA exam. It’s also important to set realistic and attainable studying goals and not spend hours retaking multiple choice practice tests to get a perfect score. Using these methods, you can cut your studying time and pass the CPA exam if you’re willing to put in the time and effort required.

Your business is under constant threat from cyber threats and a whole host of security issues that mean you have to remain constantly vigilant in order to keep your system’s integrity and everything running smoothly.

In terms of organizing your data in a way that you can respond efficiently to an incident, you might want to check out ServiceNow CMDB’s flexible packages, and here are some suggestions on how to formulate a reliable incident response plan.

You need a plan

First and foremost, you will need to create a policy that acts as the cornerstone of your data breach decision-making and response plan.

The document needs to outline the procedures and protocols that need to be followed when an incident occurs.

Aim to keep the document as brief but incisive as possible, by providing a clear guide as to what everyone is expected to do without making the document too technical or procedural.

As long as you have a plan to follow that is an excellent starting point for your response.

Assign responsibilities

The next step is to decide who is going to part of your incident response team and assign responsibilities to each of those team members.

It makes sense to play to the strengths of each person and define their response tasks according to their knowledge and ability.

Learn from the past

Although each cyber threat might have a unique element to it there is often a standard pattern of activity that plays out.

This allows you to develop a playbook that contains some standardized responses as a way of finding a resolution to the problem as quickly as possible.

For example, if a company device is lost or stolen, you can create a procedure template that can be followed whenever that scenario occurs.

The art of communication

Good communication is absolutely essential when it comes to responding efficiently to a cybersecurity incident or any IT problem that threatens the integrity of your system.

The fundamental aim of your incident response plan should provide a clear map of how everyone is expected to communicate when a situation arises.

Learn to evolve

It is always important to learn lessons from the past so that you have the best opportunity of avoiding the same problems or mistakes happening in the future.

A good way of viewing each security incident would be to see it as a learning opportunity.

A debrief where you discuss what happened and how you dealt with the threat will make it easier to identify potential gaps in your security that need to be addressed and adjust your response protocols if they were found wanting in some way.

The harsh reality of running a business in the digital age is that security incidents are virtually impossible to avoid and every organization will experience varying degrees of threat that they have to contend with.

If you have an incident response plan that provides a clear guide on what to do when a problem is discovered it should make it a lot easier to limit the damage and return to normal as quickly as possible.

Effective use of social media by law firms can prove extremely beneficial. Many law firms are starting to realize the benefits of having an active social media presence. Having a foolproof social media strategy can help a law firm gain recognition and potentially more clients. In the law industry, social media is vital if the firm wants to be visible.

With the many social media avenues available today, it can be challenging to determine the perfect starting point and which platform will most benefit the business. We will look at a few tips a law firm can utilize and the benefits associated with having a strong online presence through social media use.

What Are the Benefits of Social Media for Law Firms?

Before we look at the best social media strategies, we will determine why it’s essential to have a law firm visible on social media. Amongst the many benefits, there are a few that stand out. Below we will identify the key benefits and determine if social media is worth the time and effort.

Social Media Platforms Create Brand Awareness

The adoption rates of the various social media platforms are not going to slow down anytime soon. According to recent statistics, social media is one of the most popular online activities in 2020, with more than 3.6 billion people utilizing the various social media platforms globally.  Incredibly this number is expected to grow to 4.41 billion by the year 2025.

By creating a strong social media presence, a law firm has a greater chance of gaining consistent brand recognition. With the enormous amounts of online activity that various platforms generate daily, the chances of a law firm reaching its target audience grow exponentially when combined with typical website marketing.

Engages and Attracts Potential Clients

The American Bar association has proven that social media marketing is an effective way for law firms to attract clients. A study conducted by the association determined that roughly 35 percent of firms who use social media progressively gain new clients consistently. Social media allows lawyers to engage with their followers and prospective clients quickly and effectively.

Many firms use social media for advertising their attorney contingency fee and the services they offer, so future clients know from the beginning what the law firm specializes in. By being transparent on social media with fee structures and by providing up-to-date content relating to the law firm, prospective clients immediately feel a greater sense of trust and security.

Social Media Boosts SEO Efforts

Recently there has been much debate surrounding whether social media platforms boost SEO rankings on Google. The truth is social signals do not directly contribute to website ranking statistics. However, despite this, there is still a strong correlation between social media signals and linking with ranking positions. It is worth the effort to create a social media presence as this could drive more traffic to the law firm’s website and potentially gain the firm higher search engine rankings.

Tips for Law Firm Social Media Marketing

Social media advertising is highly competitive, and as such, it’s vital to create a social media platform that stands out from the rest. There are a few simple tips law firms can use to gain the most attention and potentially more clients.

  • Have visuals and ads on your social media that engage the audience. Don’t be afraid to include short videos and interactive content to hook the audience.
  • Share engaging content that makes people interested in the law firm. Make sure to break up walls of text as people are likely to scroll past posts that seem too lengthy.
  • Always monitor and respond to any online questions or comments as this demonstrates that the firm is interested in the people’s thoughts and opinions.
  • Research and select the correct platform for your firm. Most law firms currently use LinkedIn, but Facebook and Twitter are becoming close competitors for social media marketing.
  • Be sure to set realistic goals and develop a detail-orientated social media content strategy. Law firms that do this are likely to achieve greater success compared to those that don’t.

To round up, law firms that utilize social media platforms are more likely to gain attention and attain clients, so it is indeed a powerful marketing tool for law firms to consider using. With the correct social media content and strategies in place, a law firm’s brand can become recognizable, which will drive new client acquisition.

A successful business does more than just create and supply consumers with the products and services they need. Businesses can also impact the economy, the environment, and various social causes. With all the revenue these organizations create, whether small or large sums, they can have a real effect on the lives of those in their communities and beyond.

Many executives support this belief, too. Research shows that business leaders are looking for new ways to make a positive impact by creating companies that are focused on both profit and social change.

If you are looking to communicate to your customers, employees, and investors that your company is dedicated to corporate social responsibility, consider creating a social mission for your business.

What is a Social Mission?

A social mission can be defined as a cause that can benefit society, the economy, or the environment in some way. By having an established social mission, your business can then send a direct message to customers, employees, and others invested about the values that drive your business while having a concrete positive impact. It should be embedded in your organization as a core belief and become apparent in several ways, including donations, production, advocacy, etc.

Taking the time to learn, and invest in a social mission that is meaningful to you and those around you, can strengthen your business as a whole.

How Can a Social Mission Benefit Your Business?

As business executive Niall FitzGerald said, “Corporate social responsibility is a hard-edged business decision. Not because it is a nice thing to do or because people are forcing us to do it… because it is good for our business.” It should come as no surprise that a social mission can bring your business a handful of benefits.

For example, it can help bolster your marketing strategy by incentivizing people to support your company. Customers will feel as though they are making a difference when they buy your products, and employees will know that their hard work is going towards a good cause. By having established values, you can see a direct influence in sales your company makes because consumers are going to feel good by supporting you. According to a Cone Communications CSR study, 87% of consumers will purchase a product because a company advocated for an issue they cared about.

You can also expect to see work become more meaningful to your employees, therefore resulting in happier employees who are more invested in their work and are less likely to turnover. When individuals come together to work towards a common goal that benefits the greater good, positive results will follow.

Additionally, a social mission dedicated specifically to your neighbors can truly benefit all parties involved. A locally designated social mission supports your own city or town by encouraging community development and creating a safer, more sustainable area. Investing in your own community gives back to those that first supported you and your organization and helps share the wealth of success to those closest to you. As entrepreneur and philanthropist Robert F. Smith said, “When you think about your community how do you love your community? You share in the bounty with that community.”

How Do You Choose a Focus?

Once you have decided that a social mission is something you and your business are interested in pursuing, it is time to understand the best way to go about developing your idea.

First, find one that fits your company’s core values. Do you have any initiatives already in place that you can expand upon? For example, if your office is environmentally-friendly, you could dig deeper and look for other opportunities where your business could support eco-efforts outside of your own building. Perhaps you could donate a certain portion of your profits to national conservation groups, and encourage employees to volunteer in local cleanups. Alternatively, if you’re committed to diverse hiring practices, maybe you could create an in-house charity that focuses on supporting local, low-income schools and internship programs. Whichever focus you decide to take, you should let the existing interests and core beliefs of the organization guide your decision.

However, don’t limit yourself to niche causes— instead, find one that will have a broader impact. The larger the concept, the more variety you’ll have in finding ways to have an impact and to get your employees involved.

Then, consider the environmental impact, local involvement, or economic necessities. At what scale can you donate your resources and time? What does your local community care about? Would they support your mission? Be sure to think about these small details so you’ll have as much support as possible, and you’ll be able to maintain the mission. Ultimately, you should take the time to do some inventory and allocate your resources properly. By devoting the proper amount of time towards developing your idea, it will then be easier to implement and follow through with your mission’s goals.

Lastly, remember to stay away from political agendas. By aligning yourself with one party, you will likely alienate quite a few employees and community members and lower your support base. Choose a mission that will stand the test of time and is based above political lines.

Finally, take into consideration that your social mission should answer the following questions: “What will I do?” “How will I do it?” “Who am I doing it for?” and “What value can I provide?” The answers to these questions will guide and define your social mission as a whole.

How Do You Incorporate a Social Mission Into Your Business?

1: Create goals. Once you have defined which mission will work best for your business, you need to create an actionable, goal-focused plan to make a real impact. How will you measure success? How will you be looking to impact your mission? Approach this with a business mind in order to develop a social mission that will see real results.

2: Communicate the mission. This means to your employees, your partners or investors, your customers, and your community. You want as much support as you can get from the start. Internally, build it into your recruiting materials and onboarding experience, and share it with all employees in a company-wide communication. This will help answer questions and encourage support.

3: Make a plan for consistency. If you’re committing to this mission, you must feel confident in your ability to consistently deliver. Whether you’re donating money and need to develop a budget or are planning to have employees volunteer and must create a schedule of hours, you have to create a plan to ensure long-term success.

4: Make it part of your brand. Your social mission can have a positive impact on your marketing efforts, so be sure to promote it and make your brand synonymous with your cause. Build out a page on your website dedicated to your mission, share it on social media, and create press releases for local coverage.

5: Network with other supporters. You’ll be able to have a larger impact on your cause if you band with others and share ideas. This will also help both of your brands earn more visibility for your work. Attend meetings and join different support groups online so you can meet other, like-minded business owners.

6: Get your executives involved. It’s important that your C-suite gets involved in the action visibly. This will encourage your employees to join in on the work and will attract attention to the cause.

7: Consider getting certified. There are several types of certifications, such as B Corp, that help legitimize a company’s efforts as consistent and impactful and help showcase that the social mission isn’t simply a marketing ploy. There are certifications in several focus areas, such as environmental and humanitarian work, so do some research into which best suits your needs!

What Do Social Missions Look Like in Action?

There are several hugely successful companies that are known for their social impacts. They are clear examples of using your production and customer base’s interests to create an impact and a brand involved in action.

For example, Ben & Jerry’s has a few different social missions, ranging from humanitarian work to climate change advocacy, supporting fair trade, racial justice, climate action, and LGBTQIA+ equality. They’ve worked this mission into their production line and thought leadership so the brand is thoroughly connected to advocacy.

TOMS is another brand that’s become synonymous with social advocacy and sustainability. Their shoes are made with environmentally-friendly materials, they donate one pair for every one bought, and they’ve actively supported equality in employment practices.

Levi’s is more specific in their approach, focusing their efforts on water conservation, sharing educational resources on water scarcity and reducing the amount of water waste that goes into their production. However, they make sure to connect this mission to their product, showing how other jean producers waste water, which helps make their cause relevant to their business.

These brands not only have a strong, consistent, and relevant mission, but they also hit on every previously mentioned aspect of incorporating that mission into their businesses. Each mission is based on a goal, whether it’s to make every product fair trade, or to donate $1 billion to various environmental causes. All three do a great job of communicating the message and connecting it to their brand, with dedicated pages on their site that are easy to find and regular posts on social media about their work. Some have also partnered with celebrities or nonprofit workers who are passionate about the same causes to spread their message farther, and all have publicized news about their executives getting involved in the action.

It’s important to use examples like these to model your own social responsibility practices after so you can get a better understanding of how it will look.

When incorporated and researched thoroughly, social missions and social responsibility programs can make a large impact and become an integral part of your business. Reflect on your organization’s values, get your network excited about the work, set realistic goals, and spread the word in order to see success. Soon enough, you’ll be able to see tangible benefits for your business, as well as the real change that you can make on your local community and the world. After all, as Executive Team Leader at Shell Jeroen van der Veer said, “In my view, the successful companies of the future will be those that integrate business and employees’ personal values.”

There’s no doubt that online technologies have dramatically improved our lives. For example, we can use our phone to call a taxi, have our groceries delivered, reschedule an appointment, take a language lesson, or even trade a commercial asset. But just as easily, an unhappy customer can post a negative review of your business.

Reviews have become a big part of gaining new customers and can have a big impact on our business. How we react to negative online reviews will make a difference in how customers see a business.

How Important Are Reviews

It seems everyone reads online reviews today, checking the star ratings and gauging the validity of the reviews. Almost any kind of business can be found with online customer reviews. And shoppers read them carefully.

In 2016, 90% of shoppers read at least one online review before making a decision. And 94% of these shoppers said that a negative review can convince them to shop elsewhere.

Business owners need to understand that they need online reviews to drive customers to their business. Customer reviews can build your brand. If a company has no reviews or no place for customers to leave a review, it can look like they’re hiding something.

It doesn’t matter if a business is a local store or an online business, most shoppers will look to online reviews when deciding to buy a product or use a service.

Having online reviews makes a company look trustworthy. And we know that customers are usually smart and suspicious. Most shoppers can distrust businesses with ratings below 4 stars, and some shoppers might wonder about a business with ratings above 4 stars.

It appears that companies with 4 stars are more likely to get customers and sales. Of course, there has to be a decent amount of good reviews to go along with those 4 stars. Why would a customer be suspicious of 5 stars? Because they might think it is false. But if there are enough well-written positive reviews to justify the 5 stars, customers will usually believe the high rating.

Reviews are a way to get customers talking about your brand. Harvard Business Review found that online reviews have a big influence on a company’s bottom line. And reviews are a company’s conduit directly to their customers. They give a business a way to actually see what customers think, a way to thank them, or a way to discuss any problems a customer might have.

A few statistics can show just how important online reviews are to a business:

  • The majority of customers will trust an online review as much as a personal recommendation
  • Customers can spend as much as 30% more with a business or on a product with good online reviews
  • Positive reviews will make shoppers 72% more likely to trust a local business
  • A large majority of shoppers will use a local business if it has at least a 4-star rating
  • A one-star increase on Yelp can lead to as much as a 9% increase in revenue
  • There are almost 27,000 reviews posted on Yelp each day
  • One negative review can cost as many as 30 customers

Who Posts Online Reviews and Where

Shoppers can find reviews all over the internet. Some of the most common places to find reviews include:

  • Yelp
  • Google Business Reviews
  • Facebook
  • Amazon
  • Yellow Pages
  • Better Business Bureau
  • The company’s website.

Anyone can write an online review. And sometimes it seems that only the angry customers are the ones that write the online reviews. If someone is pleased with a service, they might either take it for granted and not write a review or not get around to it. And those customers that are angry for some reason will instantly write a negative review.

Sometimes a business owner will get friends and family members to write positive online reviews. That can backfire as customers might recognize many of those types of reviews as fake or phony.

Family and friends can certainly write a good review if they have used the business before, and then it won’t appear made up and fake. Fake reviews can scare potential customers away just as fast as a negative online review can.

Some businesses might pay people to write positive online reviews. This is unethical, and shoppers will still detect this. These kinds of reviews can even be worse than a negative review if shoppers feel they are being deceived.

Shoppers can tell if there are too many positive reviews in a row, especially if they all sound the same. The best way to earn new customers is to have honest reviews.

How to Avoid Negative Online Reviews

Getting negative online reviews is inevitable, but there are some things that can be done to avoid getting too many of them.

Be Available

One of the most frustrating things for customers is when they cannot contact the company. Customers have questions or problems, and when they try to contact the company, they hit brick walls. Customers might be treated to unanswered emails, canned replies, or unanswered phones. Being available and personable to all customers can help avoid many negative reviews.

Be Professional

Above all else, when replying to a customer complaint over the telephone or email, be professional. Do not try to argue with the customer, even if they are wrong. Find out exactly what the problem is, and calmly try to rectify it. Treat every customer as if they are the company’s most important customer. In doing this, you might turn what would have been a negative review into a positive one.

Be a Customer

Perform regular tests of your company. Make sure the service or product is as expected. Make sure the website is operating properly. Make sure that customers have a way to contact the business. Go through everything as if you are a customer.

Respond Quickly

Making a customer wait for a reply back to their problem only adds to their frustration. And frustration leads to more negative reviews. A quick and personal response is what customers are looking for. A canned or useless reply could quickly get a company a negative review.

Encourage Customers to Leave a Review

Angry customers are more likely to leave a review than a happy customer is. That is one reason we might see more negative reviews than we do positive ones. Research has found that 77% of customers will leave a review if they are asked. By asking customers to leave a review, you will find many more positive reviews than negative ones.

Provide Great Service

This might seem obvious, but providing great service and taking care of business is the simplest way of avoiding negative reviews. Always keep the customer in mind when dealing with every aspect of the company.

How to Avoid Negative Online Reviews

Since getting negative reviews is inevitable, there are ways to handle them and ways not to handle them. Handling negative reviews in the wrong way can make one negative review much worse.

Don’t ignore negative reviews. That makes it look like the company doesn’t care about its customers or complaints. By properly replying to negative reviews, you can gain the trust of shoppers who read the replies to negative reviews. This can also boost your company’s image.

A study that looked at hotel reviews on TripAdvisor found that hotels that responded to customer reviews had 12 percent more reviews and an average rating increase of 0.12 stars. That might not sound like a lot, but it adds up to more positive reviews.

When reading a negative review, the first thought is to defend the company, which can get personal or nasty. And that usually turns off other shoppers who are reading these reviews and replies.

Responding quickly to negative reviews is important. The longer a negative review goes without a reply, the worse it can look to other shoppers. Replying to a negative review might not be a pleasant task, but it is something that needs to be done as soon as possible.

Reading a negative review can teach a company about some aspects of the company that are not running smoothly. Take this opportunity to discuss this with the reviewer in an honest and thoughtful way. Customers and potential customers love honesty above all else, especially when a company takes the time to listen and reply in an honest manner.

Keep the replies professional and appropriate. In this day and age on the internet, online conversations can get out of hand quickly. Don’t let that happen. A company will gain a great deal of online respect when they reply in a mature and professional manner.

Make all replies custom replies. We’ve all noticed canned replies from companies when reading reviews. They are not even worth taking notice of. And it gives us a feeling that the company really doesn’t care what their customers think. By taking the time to write a custom reply to each review, it will give customers the feeling that this company does care about them.

If possible, take it offline. Sometimes, a customer’s negative review is best settled offline. In the reply, ask the customer if there is a way to be contacted so the complaint can be resolved. If they don’t feel comfortable giving out contact information, give them your contact information. This again will give shoppers the feeling that this company does care.

If the situation warrants, offer the customer some type of compensation. This might not happen very often, but when it does, you can take advantage of the situation and show your goodwill towards an unsatisfied customer.

Don’t respond to nonsense reviews. Sometimes there are going to be negative reviews that make no sense. These reviews could be trolls, fake negative reviews, or fraud. Even though we might feel like defending our company or arguing, these types of reviews are best left alone. Shoppers are not stupid and can spot fake reviews for themselves.

By responding properly to negative reviews, we can actually turn those negative reviews into positive reviews. Many times a customer that has posted a negative review will come back to edit it and turn it into a positive review.

Turning Negative Customers into Positive Customers

Years ago, Disney came up with an approach to deal with angry customers, known as HEARD. Any business can use this approach to turn negative comments into positive online reviews.

  • Hear: Listen to customers explain their position without interrupting. Sometimes all it takes to turn a negative review into a positive one is to listen.
  • Empathize: Show the customer that you completely understand their frustration. The empathy has to be sincere.
  • Apologize: Even if you’re not at fault, apologize to the customer. Make them feel like they’ve actually been heard.
  • Resolve: Resolve the customer’s problem quickly. All employees should be empowered to resolve customer issues.
  • Diagnose: Without blaming others, figure out where and why the problem occurred in the first place, and correct it.

Removing Negative Reviews

Positive reviews can help a business gain new customers. Since negative reviews are a part of all businesses, it is important that negative reviews are handled properly. Shoppers pay attention to the company’s replies just as much as they do the actual reviews.

Once in a while, there will be negative reviews that are not about the same company, or fake reviews from a disgruntled former employee, or a number of other reasons. In cases like these, they can be removed.

To make things easier, make sure to claim your business on review websites. If there are fraudulent reviews, this will make getting them removed easier. Review websites like Yelp, Google Business Review, and others have specific procedures to follow. Each website has guidelines for the removal of fraudulent reviews.

Summary

All reviews, especially negative reviews can teach us about our business. They can help us find flaws that can be corrected, and in some cases give us great ideas on how to make our business even better.

By encouraging customers to write online reviews, a business can get more positive reviews, which can overshadow the few negative reviews. If handled properly, negative reviews and complaints can be turned into positive reviews, all great ways to increase business.

Never argue on a review website, take it offline so the complaint can be handled properly. Don’t use canned replies. Write personal replies to a negative review, since that shows that a company cares about its customers.

Online reviews will always be a part of business. By taking advantage of both positive and negative reviews, any business can boost their brand and profit if the reviews are handled properly.

If you’re thinking of launching a business soon, e-commerce could be a smart decision. According to Nasdaq, approximately 95% of shopping will be via e-commerce by 2040.

However, a lack of experience in the industry could prevent you from grabbing a share of the market. Rather than living with regrets, you must take the steps to learn more about e-commerce and how you can enjoy great financial success. Get started by reading this ultimate guide to selling products online.

Research the Best Product to Sell

The first thing you must do is find the best product to sell online. If you want to generate a substantial revenue each year, you must attempt to source a product that isn’t available in many e-commerce stores. If you select products that are featured heavily on many platforms, you’ll likely struggle to attract customers and you might need to lower your pricing.

Discover a product you firmly believe your target customers would like to buy, but that’s hard to find elsewhere. For example, you could look for a product, or create an item, that will solve your customers’ problems or that taps into their passions.

Choose the Right E-Commerce Platforms

Once you have found the right product(s), you’ll need to choose where you’re going to sell it. Various e-commerce platforms can help you to reach your target market, such as:

  • Amazon
  • eBay
  • Etsy
  • Facebook

You also have the option to open an e-commerce store using the likes of WordPress, Shopify, or Oblero. Alternatively, you could buy an already profitable e-commerce business that’s up for sale on the likes of Flippa, which includes Amazon FBAs and eBay storefronts.

If you want to enjoy great success in e-commerce, you must choose a platform that will allow you to sell many products to your target market. For example, Amazon tends to focus on wholesale products, Etsy will feature handmade creations, and a website can feature a combination of the two.

Don’t Rule out Amazon

You shouldn’t rule out Amazon when launching an e-commerce brand, as it’s a leading online retailer that generated $232.88 billion in revenue in 2018. It has also been reported that 2 in 5 customers will receive between 1 to 2 Amazon packages per week.

Unlike with a website, you can tap into a large audience that’s searching for your product and ready to make a purchase. All you’ll need to enjoy success is a great product and the right plan for your business. At present, Amazon has two plans to choose from:

  • Paying $39.99 per month to sell an unlimited number of products on the platform
  • Paying $0.99 for every item you sell

If you’re dipping your toe into Amazon, paying $0.99 per item might be the best option. However, if you’re hoping to sell many items throughout the year on the platform, you’d be wise to choose the larger plan.

Amazon now also requires e-commerce entrepreneurs to buy GTINs, UPCs, or EANs for their Amazon listings, which will be determined by their country. You’ll be unable to create new product pages without doing so.

Paying for a plan also doesn’t mean you’ll appear at the top of a page for a user’s product search. It’s a search engine like Google and you’ll need to adopt various SEO techniques to boost your visibility on the platform.

It’s also important to note that an Amazon plan can still lead to your account being suspended or removed permanently. Common causes for an Amazon account suspension can include:

  • Counterfeit claims
  • Trademark or copyright infringement
  • Safety complaints
  • Review manipulation
  • A high order defect rate
  • Late shipment rate
  • Used but sold as new

It might be a relief to learn that you can appeal a suspension; however, you may need specialist help from the likes of riverbendconsulting.com.

Sell with eBay

It is reported that eBay has approximately 168 million active buyers, who typically spend an average of 6 minutes and 10 seconds on the website. Customers are also likely to have a product in mind when they visit the website, which is why you’ll need to ensure your inventory would fare well on the site.

For example, the site sells an average of 12,342 pairs of women’s shoes and 8,640 handbags every single day. It’s also important to have a firm understanding of its demographic, as 57% of customers are male and 47% are female, with the largest group being between the ages of 34 to 49 years old. However, only 7% of visitors are aged 65 and over, so it might not be the best platform if you want to sell products to seniors.

Also, eBay differs from the likes of Amazon, as it is an auction platform. Yet, this could work in your favor, as it could result in you selling a product for a higher amount than a buy it now price.

You’ll also need to incorporate the following costs into your monthly outgoings:

  • Product listing fees – you’ll be charged 35p per listing after you have reached a monthly allocation of 1,000 free listings
  • Final value fees – you’ll pay 10% of the final transaction value to eBay that’s capped at £250
  • Advanced listing and upgrade fees – you’ll pay a fee for upgrades, such as adding a subtitle, featuring a buy it now price, or including a gallery of larger images

Choosing Etsy

If you plan to sell homemade creations or vintage items online, Etsy is a better alternative to the likes of eBay and Amazon. It’s also important to be aware that you cannot sell items on Etsy that you didn’t make yourself, as reselling is banned.

Etsy also has taken the time to provide various useful tips and advice on how sellers can improve their listings to grow their sales. For example, they’ll provide tips on how to snap attractive product photos and advice for writing engaging product descriptions that convince buyers to make a purchase. Seller membership is also straightforward. You’ll pay $0.20 per listing and you’ll pay a 3.5% fee for every transaction.

Create a Facebook Shop

An E-Commerce Website

An e-commerce website will provide a virtual storefront for your many products. However, it can take time to drive traffic to your website and establish trust in your brand.

For your e-commerce store to generate significant sales, you’ll need to:

  • Build an attractive, easy-to-use site
  • Improve the user experience
  • Develop an effective SEO strategy
  • Publish unique, well-written, and insightful content
  • Market your website to increase traffic and sales

The above tactics can ultimately help you to attract many visitors and increase your sales, but it will require much hard work, time, and effort.

You’ll also need to factor in various costs, such as web hosting, web design, marketing, and domain address fees.

Omnichannel Retail

Don’t Ignore Google Shopping

Product promotion is essential for growing your brand awareness, traffic, and annual revenue. While marketing your products via social media and email marketing are a must-do, you also shouldn’t ignore Google Shopping.

It probably isn’t surprising to learn that Google is the leading platform for product searches. Yet, many e-commerce brands tend to overlook the Google Shopping service when selling products online, which is a big mistake.

When you pay for a Shopping ad, your product, its image, and the price will feature at the top of the search engine for a query. It will also sit above text-based search ads and organic results, which can increase the likelihood of a user reviewing your product, visiting your website, and placing an order.

The beauty of Shopping ads is that Google will do the hard work for you. The search engine’s algorithm will pull key data from your e-commerce store to create advertisements that are relevant to a search query.

Many businesses are starting to catch on to the benefits of Google Shopping, as spend increased by 41% in 2019 while search ad spend has dropped. After all, would you rather engage with an ad that describes a product or a high-quality image that features the price upfront? If a product matches a customer’s exact wants or needs, and the price is right for their budget, you can guarantee they will choose a Google Shopping ad over text.

Analyze Your Competitors

Regardless of whether you choose to sell products on Amazon, Facebook, eBay, or Etsy, or all the above, you’ll need to gain a firm understanding of your competitors before you start an e-commerce business.

It’s important to identify your rivals’ ranking for your desired keywords in the search engines, as they could secure customers that could be yours. For instance, you’ll need to research the websites appearing in the top 10 pages of Google and you must aim to knock competitors off the top spot.

To do so, you’ll need to embark on various search engine optimization tactics.

For example, you might need to:

Optimize your pages to improve your visibility in the search engines
Build a strong backlink profile – secure guest posts on high-authority websites
Aim to secure the same or similar backlinks of your competitors
Audit an e-commerce website – e.g. fix technical issues, improve web crawling, and publish fresh content

You’ll also need to consider your competitors’ strengths and weaknesses. For example, why would your customers choose them over your brand? They could separate themselves by providing free shipping, a lower price point, a compelling loyalty program, or an exceptional customer service experience.

It is your responsibility to pinpoint their many benefits, which you should adopt and improve on to attract many customers to your brand.

There also could be an effective marketing platform your rivals are failing to utilize, such as email marketing, influencer marketing, or customer referral programs. By discovering their weaknesses, you could gain a competitive edge and a stronger financial position.

Conclusion

E-commerce is growing in both size and revenue every day, and it is expected to increase with each passing decade. There are also a variety of platforms for customers to choose from, which can range from launching an e-commerce website to creating a store on the likes of Amazon, Etsy, and eBay. You also shouldn’t rule out marketing on all the above channels.

However, you must ensure you discover the right product for your target audience and find out where they tend to make a purchase. You also should weigh up the pros and cons of each platform and have a firm understanding of the competition and your target demographic to make an informed decision.

With a little research, hard work, and effort, there’s no reason why you can’t secure a share of the e-commerce market and enjoy a healthy revenue each year.

Amazon’s Alexa is the most popular virtual assistant of all, even if Siri and Google have their fans. One of the Alexa platform’s strengths is its impressive flexibility, a feature enabled largely by its openness to third-party developers.

Simple apps that run on Alexa are termed “skills” and can be added by anyone with a bit of technical know-how. Putting a piece of information, a game, or a podcast on amazon alexa is easy enough that even non-developers have done so quite successfully.

Follow the five steps outlined below and you can create your own Alexa skill and make it available to everyone. Amazon’s official documentation for Alexa contains plenty of additional information about each of these subjects.

1. Plan Ahead

It is possible to design and implement an Alexa skill off the cuff, but planning tends to pay off. Properly planned Alexa skills serve carefully chosen purposes and function in ways that users find intuitive. The best way to get started will be to think about how your contemplated skill will stand out from the many that are already available. Skills that duplicate the functionality of existing favorites tend to get lost in the shuffle, as might be expected. Having a unique value proposition in mind will rule such problems out and make the design work that follows easier. You should also think about how the process of using a new skill will play out, mostly for the same reasons. Having an understanding of how Alexa fans habitually use the system will always make this easier. Therefore, it can pay for newcomers to spend some time interacting with Alexa before getting started.

2. Register Your Skill in Amazon’s Developer Console

The next step is largely a formality and should take only a few minutes. Before a new Alexa skill can be designed and launched, it needs to be created in the official Developer Console.

3. Build an Interaction Model

At the heart of every Alexa skill is a voice-based interaction model. Much like with the visual user interfaces many developers are familiar with, the best of these always feel intuitive to use. Most freshly minted Alexa developers find that the Developer Console makes it easy enough to design interaction models. More advanced, experienced skill designers can just as well write JSON documents that detail their creations.

4. Write the Required Code

Some Alexa skills consist of little more than canned responses to predetermined questions. Many others require at least a bit of code-based logic to deliver the results users expect.

As might be anticipated, developers are expected to use the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform to host any code they write. Standalone AWS Lambda functions can be used to run small, independent snippets of code that correspond to particular Alexa queries.

4. Get Certified

Although the platform is fairly open, publishing a skill on Alexa requires obtaining certification first. The Developer Console includes tests that will need to be run before Amazon will consider okaying a new skill.

Once certification has been granted, an Alexa skill becomes ready for anyone to use. Most developers find that it pays to put some effort into marketing their Alexa-based creations to make sure others will discover them.

The five simple steps above can be followed to turn a concept into a fully functional Alexa skill. Alexa’s popularity ensures that developers with interesting, creative ideas always meet with success when they make their own skills available to the public.

It’s been 25 years since a then-unknown Angelina Jolie starred in the movie Hackers. At the time, the World Wide Web was a new phenomenon for most people. Since that time, hackers have only gotten more sophisticated when it comes to stealing files and data.

The best way to protect your computer is by using secure remote file access and sharing. It’s also important to be aware of how hackers gain access to your system. Unfortunately, many people don’t think twice before clicking a link, regardless of what’s on the other side of it.

The risk of getting hacked is lower when you know the method hackers use, and can avoid them.

Internet Security at Risk as Hackers Get Creative

In the last few television seasons, quite a few shows featured stories of ransomware. It’s one of the latest methods hackers use to extort money from internet users. In one storyline, a hospital is threatened with a power shutdown unless a specific amount of money is wired to an untraceable account.

While television is more dramatic than real-life, ransomware is a growing trend off-screen. It is just one example of how hackers are getting creative in how they scam money from un-savvy internet users.

5 Ways Hackers Can Get Into Your System

While hacking has gotten more sophisticated, the old hacking methods are still quite common. Here are 5 of the most common methods used by hackers to get into your system:

  1. Infecting your system with malware. Malware is one of the most-used hacking methods on the internet.  A download link to a virus is disguised as a benign link, fooling the user into clicking it. Most commonly sent through emails or social media, malware can be found in ‘safe’ places, too.
  2. Using phishing scams to get personal data. The crown Prince from a foreign nation has money for you! If you’ve been on around the internet for a while, you’ve likely gotten a similar email. But now hackers have found a way to replicate a legitimate site’s email address. One common email tells you that your account has been compromised, and you need to reset the password. Typos and misspellings in the email or website address is a tell-tale scam sign.
  1. Logging into unsecured WiFi networks. Free internet! But sometimes it ends up costing you even more! Logging into an unsecured WiFi network allows other users on that network access to your system.
  2. Compromising your password. In movies, passwords are easily guessed by hackers. That rarely happens in real-life. But hackers don’t NEED to guess. Your passwords are likely stored in your systems files. If a hacker gains access to your files, they have your passwords, too. Data breaches are another way hackers get privy to passwords. Experts recommend having different passwords for every site.
  1. Malicious app downloads. Hackers are coming for your phones, too. Malicious apps work like desktop downloads. Once the infected app is downloaded to your phone, hackers have access to your phone’s system.

Getting hacked is more common than ever, likely due to social media. People unknowingly pass on the viruses to others after clicking on a sketchy link. As a rule of thumb, don’t click on links from random people or people who normally don’t send you to chat requests.

Knowing the methods hackers use can help you stay aware of the dangers lurking in emails and downloads.

Leads are considered to be the lifeblood of your sales and marketing efforts and if you can reach out to the right audience it should help you to convert more that interest into solid sales.

If you are looking to get more qualified leads there are a few proven strategies that should be on your radar.

Here are some ways to fill your sales funnel with leads who are showing a keen interest in doing business with you.

Encourage them to engage with opt-in options

There are numerous ways to draw a potential lead in and once you have some sort of interest and dialogue under way it is essential that you develop ways to ensure you are given permission to continue and develop that sales relationship.

A great way of doing that is to work on giving them a choice of tempting opt-ins, such as signing up for free reports, for instance, or access to some useful resources.

A good tactic would be to make the opt-in box a pop-up so that the person is given an easy opportunity to confirm their acceptance.

Work on your landing page

It goes without saying that the landing page on your website is of paramount importance and you need to maximize your chances of converting visitors into customers.

Try to take an unbiased view of how your landing page looks if it is the first time you have seen it and make sure that the pages are clear and concise with their message.

You also need to make sure that the landing pages make it straightforward and simple to take action on.

Stand out from the crowd

Some landing pages enjoy phenomenal success and have conversion rates that are well above average, so what are they doing differently to achieve this level of success?

The problem is often that you might be offering something that is readily available elsewhere, such as free trials or consultations, for example.

If the reader can get the same offers elsewhere it dilutes the strength of your message and that is why it often pays to find a way to offer something better and different to your rivals so that you stand out from the crowd.

Aim to hurt your competitors

A great way of generating quality leads is to develop a strategy that involves targeting your competitors’ customers.

The way to do this would be to use Gmail Ads and take advantage of the tools it offers that can help with your quest to hone in on your target audience, at the expense of your competitors.

Look at targeting keywords and phrases that are being used by your main rivals and once you have that marketing intelligence at your disposal, add them as target keywords in order to draw in sale targets that would otherwise head over to another rival site.

This tactic will help you to reach an audience that you already know should be interested in what you have to say.

If you want your software company to stand out from the crowd can you afford not to deploy these proven tactics?

A small business owner is always looking for indigenous ways to promote their business. As they have a limited budget, it is imperative that they get innovative with their marketing campaign, and use digital tools to their advantage. One of the best digital tools for small business is social media platforms.

Numerous social media platforms can help you market your business, but the pioneer of social media-Facebook will always remain on top.

Facebook has over 2.45 billion monthly active users making it one of the biggest platforms ever. Already 90 million brands (startups) are on it promoting their business and launching a wide-range marketing campaign. It can be ads, or you can use FB to create brand awareness without ads.

The trick is to find the right tips to help you get the maximum subscribers, likes, and engagement. Facebook not only helps with brand promotion, but it has multiple uses. When you create a page on it, it gives credibility to your business while ensuring that you can find out other companies, who you would like to do business with and vice versa.

Daily users on Facebook are 1.73 billion. It shows that a customer on FB visits it at least twice a day, so it gives small businesses a lot of scope for promotion. No matter how many platforms come into existence, Facebook still has more reach. It was 60% per cent in the year 2018. These numbers give Facebook a lot of power and influence over other social media platforms.

In this blog, we will discuss how small businesses can use Facebook for their brand? But before we divulge in it, let’s check out why Facebook can help small businesses.

Why can FB aid marketing campaigns of small businesses?

1. Facebook aids search engine optimization

Every business has a website or a blog, and they need high traffic and lead conversion on it for making a profit. For that, SEO is the best tool as it ensures that you get top ranking on the search engine results page and more traffic. One of the elements of SEO is Facebook, as it can bring a lot of traffic to your website or blog.

If a search engine indexes your FB page, the posts and links and other things on it can help boost SEO for your business.

2. It helps you learn about your target audience

Every business has a specific set of the target audience who they have to cater to. You must know the interest, likes, dislikes, and more about your audience to provide better services and content to them. For that, knowing your customers is most important.

Facebook can help you with this as your customers know that your company is on the platform and they interact with you through it. They leave suggestions and feedback via comments or in FB groups which can be insightful data for all businesses.

3. It is cost-effective

Marketing campaigns require a million dollars which is not the best option for a small or medium business. For them, Facebook is a cost-effective option, and even a business with a limited budget can use it to market their business to a global audience within seconds.

It is also a perfect platform for trial and error as you get an immediate response, so you know what is working for your business and what is not.

4. It is a platform to share information about business

Facebook is also a great platform where you can share important details about your business. From your history, to contact details, and products and service description, you can share a lot on FB. It keeps your target audience aware of every critical information.

5. Customer service

A lot of the audience uses social media for customer service, as it is immediate and responsive. No one likes waiting around for hours to solve their queries. Thus, Facebook is best for small businesses as it helps them provide the best customer services to them, and it ensures that no queries of a consumer go unnoticed.

How to use FB for your small business?

1. Make sure you select the right theme and template

Facebook lets you choose templates and categories and subcategories for your business. You must select the right things for your small business. It is because if your templates and categories are not right or justify your business, your FB page will have no results. Also, getting them right helps your audience find you with ease, and also you get to use features like reviews or shops.

If you think the current template or category is wrong for your business, you can switch it up right now.

2. Blend in with your content

Content is the key to success irrespective of the platform. So, if you are throwing posts on your FB page without ensuring that it is relevant or something that the audience is looking for, then it won’t work for you. Thus, make sure you play with your content, go for fun, sarcastic, out-of-the-box ideas to connect with your audience.

Moreover, don’t stop with text content, use images and videos and memes too as they connect more with your audience.

3. Work on your cover image

Facebook cover can be beneficial for your small business as it has multiple benefits. A Facebook communicates what your brand stands for and what your business is all about. For instance, if you are dealing in jewellery, show models wearing jewellery or photos of jewels on the cover image.

In addition to this, a cover image is the first thing that the audience will see on your page, so it should be appealing and must justify the brand.

To create the best Facebook cover images, use Canva. It has templates for the same, which makes them consistent always.

4. Make use of messenger

Facebook messenger is not just a place to chat with friends and family anymore. It has become a tool for customer service, and small businesses need to take advantage of the same. Moreover, it is easier for a small business to get approval for using a messenger as a customer service tool.

With this, you can set up timings, automated response, and more and can communicate directly with your audience.

5. Make a Facebook group

Creating groups on Facebook has a bigger purpose than sharing and promoting your content. It is an opportunity to connect with your audience and also give a place for like-minded people to communicate with each other. You don’t have to create a FB group for your business, but you can create a group about products of yours in which people are showing interests.

It will give them a chance to discuss and provide feedback, and you can use it to learn their interests and likes. Furthermore, if you share articles or links in the group related to their conversations, it is the best way to get them to notice you without promoting yourself.

6. Have a content calendar

To get the most out of Facebook, you need to post at least twice a day or more, if you can. Now, it takes up a lot of time if you are creating immediate content and posting it at that time only. The better thing to do is schedule your posts using a tool like Buffer.

It will make it easy for you to look at other aspects of FB marketing and not worry about posting content on a specific time. To make this easier, you need to have a content calendar. This calendar keeps your content organized, and you know what you want to post on which day. It also makes it easier to create more fresh and original content and share it on a given day automatically without you having to stop doing your work.

7. Set aside a small budget for Facebook ads

The competition is tough on each platform and, on Facebook, it is reaching its prime limit. So, if you want to get in front of your customer, you need to set aside some budget for paid content. Posting unpaid content is becoming a waste of time, as it doesn’t get across the target audience.

Thus, it is best to have small paid content that you can post once in a while, that will have better results. Opt for Facebook ads as they are effective in ensuring that your content gets in front of the correct demographic and target audience.

8. Use analytics

The Facebook analytics tool is beneficial and provides knowledge about the reach and engagement of your posts. If you don’t use analytics, you will never know whether your techniques are working or not. Also, make use of other analytics tools for better information.

9. Keep learning

My last advice for you is to keep learning about the use of Facebook for small businesses. The trends and techniques to get ahead of your competitors using Facebook keep changing. So, if you want to stay ahead of the curve and make money and earn leads off FB, you need to keep learning about this platform and how it benefits your business.

Facebook may dwindle, but it will always be the best and most important platform for small businesses. Use these tips to kick-start your marketing campaign right now.

A lot of people are interested in starting a business and it can a very exciting opportunity. Being the boss and watching your business becoming successful is an incredibly satisfying experience, but many challenges come with it. If you’re a budding entrepreneur with a great business idea, consider these points before you get started to make sure your business takes off.

1: Branding and Marketing

One of the first things that you will need to do is make sure your business brand is unique and stands out to consumers. When forming your business plan, research your competitors and consider they’re branding. What works? What doesn’t? How can you make yours better and bolder? You must also do thorough market research as this will help you to create your marketing strategies. It’s essential to get these things right if your business is going to succeed. If you can afford to do so, hire a marketing agency to help you with building and promoting your brand.

2: Operate Online

For specific business ideas, having an office space might be necessary, but if you can operate online, do so. It will help to reduce your overheads as you can work remotely from home or use hot-desking rather than signing up for a lease for offices. If your business is in retail, having an e-commerce website is also essential. To save even further, consider using dropshipping to sell your products. This will keep your costs down as you will not have to purchase high quantities of stock before you make a sale, but instead, customers will order a product from your online store, and this will be sent out directly from the wholesaler.

3: Get Help

If this is your first business venture, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Seeking advice from a business advisor or professional consultants could be greatly beneficial and make you think about things you wouldn’t have before. Expert advice is invaluable, and it’s OK to admit that you’re still learning. The first few years of business will be a lot of trial and error, but to make sure you’re making an informed choice when it comes to business management, asking experienced people for guidance is a good idea.

4: Short-Term and Long-Term Plans

Before you get financial backing for your start-up, you will need to have written a thorough business plan to present to investors or banks to get a loan. When coming up with your business plans, think carefully about your short-term goals and where you’d like to see the business later on down the line. At the very least, the first 5 years of your business should be covered in this plan. Make sure your targets are realistic and manageable, and although you can’t predict the future, it’s good to have a back-up plan in case things don’t pan out the way you thought they would.

There is a lot that goes into launching a business, and you will need to take your time to think things through properly. While you might be keen to get started, don’t rush this process. Consider the points above to help you form a strong business plan and increase your chances of success.

1. Avoid Unnecessary Expenses

Avoiding unnecessary expenses during a recession sounds like common sense, but sometimes, the best answers are the simplest ones.

Don’t make the assumption that everything you’re paying for is necessary. It’s worth looking through your expenses in detail and making sure that there’s nothing on the list that you no longer need.

Are you paying for a streaming site that you’ve only used to watch two movies over the past month? Or still paying for a gym membership but you’ve only been to the gym a few times recently? And are you eating out many times per week when you can cook at home?

If you are, you should consider whether this money could go towards more important things.

On average, Americans subscribe to three streaming services. Depending on which services, this may already cost upwards of $30 per month. Streaming services aren’t the only expenses that may not be entirely necessary, either. Things such as going out to eat too often can also run up your costs.

Look at your expenses in detail, and decide for yourselves which ones are needed and which ones could be cut for a while to save money.

2. Investing Spare Funds

Short term investments are riskier than long term ones such as index funds, but they provide a quicker turnaround time and have long been a source of extra income for many who trade stocks on the side of their main income.

Right now, the market favors new investors.

It’s a volatile market right now, thanks to a number of factors tied to the global economy. For new investors who didn’t have an existing portfolio headed into the recession, however, this wasn’t a problem.

According to Marc Lasry, a billionaire hedge fund manager in addition to being a co-owner of the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks, recent events in the world offer debt investors a major chance to get ahead. In fact, Lasry called it an opportunity of a lifetime.

And even as the economy and the world in general returns to normal, the first months of 2020 proved that you don’t have to be a big time hedge fund manager or an investor with thousands of spare dollars to throw around to make profits from the stock market.

More casual traders have flocked to the market as of recent, and they’ve proven that even a regular person who doesn’t have access to complex market analysis software can come out with more money than they began with.

The Robinhood app, which aims to allow for easy stock trading from mobile devices, has seen a big increase in use during the recession – with both good and bad results for new traders. It’s worth noting both the good and the bad cases here, because investing doesn’t mean guaranteed money.

Like gambling, it’s only worth investing money that you can afford to lose. However, investments that do make a return can help as a source of extra income during a time when work can be hard to come by.

3. Consider Cooking At Home

While this one could go under the first point, it’s noteworthy enough to list as its own. Now, this might not be popular with everyone, but it might be a necessity if money is tight.

According to a study by the Harvard Business Review, 50% of Americans claimed that they hate to cook. It’s easy to make an argument that cooking at home is falling out of favor, but some may reconsider their stance after seeing how much the average American spends on eating out.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics says that the average household in the United States spends roughly $3,000 annually on dining out. While many can afford this during regular times, this isn’t always as sustainable once things get tough. If your income is down, you may want to lower your expenses in this area to compensate.

If you do have to get food from outside restaurants, another way to save money is to get it yourself instead of having it delivered. Delivery fees can add up to cost a lot in the long run, and according to a 2018 survey, food delivery services are used by 45% of Americans for an average price of $63 per month. This is also slightly skewed by gender – the cost goes up with men, who pay an average of $77 per month.

It might not be the most convenient option, but if you cut out food deliveries and reduce the amount you eat out, you could potentially save a not so insignificant amount of money because of your efforts. You may even discover that you like cooking more than you thought, which can provide long term savings even during economically good times if you continue with your newfound trend of cooking for yourself or your family.

4. Have An Emergency Reserve

Having money in reserve is a good practice even during good times, but in times like these, it’s even more important. If you have extra income, this is a good time to hold it in reserve rather than spending it, to give yourself more of a cushion if the situation doesn’t improve in the near future.

This may not be possible for everyone – some are living paycheck to paycheck and don’t have the extra funds to keep much of a reserve, and others have already spent what they have after losing work.

If you can afford it, however, it’s a smart move. The course of the economy and the year, in general, has been anything but predictable, and there’s no real answer on when the world will go back to normal. In a time like this, it’s especially important to not get caught off guard and without funds when an urgent situation comes up.

Summary

2020 has been an unstable year for most people and there’s a lot of worries about making ends meet at this time. That’s understandable, and with the way things are this year, there’s little getting around it.

However, it is possible to get through these problems by practicing simple economic principles and being more mindful about spending in general during a time when money is harder to come by.

Things will get better in the future at some point. Until then, we could do well to implement basic but valuable lessons in staying afloat before it does.

Ecommerce SEO is all about driving traffic to your store; it doesn’t matter if you have the best products or not. If people ain’t clicking the business is going to fail.

To help you out, I’ve listed four essential SEO steps to build yourself a dependable store:

Step 01 – Audit Your Site

The most common mistake any eCommerce startup makes is jumping straight to link building. Most of the time the problems are a lot closer to home than you think.

It’s like building your house on sand; eventually, it’s going to sink!

Before you do anything your need to make sure there are no on-site problems, the most common being:

  • Technical issues
  • No content/Duplicate content
  • Hard to Crawl

To find out what’s up, you’ll need to run an audit on your eCommerce site. For this, you have many tools you can use, such as SEMrush and Ahrefs

But today we’re going to talk about Screaming Frog:

It’s the most competent tool to use for an audit, and the best part is, it’s free to use for up to 500 URLs. After that, you’ll need to pay a yearly license of £149.

Auditing your site with Screaming Frog couldn’t be easier, just follow these quick and easy steps:

  1. Enter your eCommerce’s main URL into the search bar and press Crawl
  2. Once the Crawl has completed, you can export the data
  3. To make the information easier to read filter the data with HTML only
  4. You’ll then be shown the dashboard, from here you should save the work FILE>SAVE

From the dashboard, you’ll be able to find solutions to all the problems with your eCommerce site. Go to the filter and search for any duplicate content on the website.

If you find any fix it, Google will only index one of the pages, which means you could be losing organic search traffic.

Step 02 – Keyword Research

Google has many ranking factors, but keywords are still to this day one of the biggest. It’s something you have to keep in mind if you want your site to succeed.

Finding the right keywords will help you drive traffic to your site, and this is the key to success for any online shop. In this section, I’m going to show you what makes the perfect keyword and what mistakes you should avoid:

Intent Of The Keyword

One of the biggest mistakes I see is when the store owner picks a keyword-based solely on how much traffic it brings. The ultimate goal for selecting the right keyword is to attract qualified traffic.

In other words, it’s a keyword that can drive customers from the right stage of a sales funnel. The lower stage of the funnel has the people ready to spend money, but there are fewer of them, others aim at the top and work them down the sales funnel.

Relevance To Your Store

To attract the right people to your eCommerce store, the keyword needs to be relevant to the intent. This helps to increase the conversion rate of the page. Think about it, what’s the point of using a keyword that doesn’t match the product?

To find out if the keyword is relevant to your store search for it in Google and check out the top 10 results. If those pages match yours, you’ll know the keyword is relevant to your store.

Overall Competition

The key to success is finding a keyword that you realistically compete with. This means finding a keyword with a difficulty that matches your page authority. Think about it; a new store is unlikely to compete with any of the big names (Amazon).

Volume Of Search

You need to consider how many people search for the keyword you’re thinking about. If people don’t search for the term, what’s the point of using it? What accounts as high traffic for one niche might not be the same for others.

You’ll need to compare each keyword in that niche to find out what’s classed as a high traffic keyword. Remember it’s vital that you consider the previous three steps. Picking a keyword solely based on traffic can be a huge mistake.

How To Find Keywords Using Ahrefs

Researching suitable keywords is simple using Ahrefs, just follow these steps to find out if you can rank for your keyword:

  1. Perform a search for your keyword in Ahrefs Keyword Explorer
  2. Check the keyword difficulty; Ask yourself, does my page authority match the difficulty?
  3. Look at the page ranking for that keyword, do they have a similar authority?

Following these steps and asking the right questions is the key to succeeding in your keyword research.

Step 03 – On Page SEO

Just like your everyday websites, on-page SEO is the key to building the right foundations for your eCommerce stores.

The thing is:

Ecommerce SEO has its own challenges.

Below I’m going to show you everything you need to get you on-page SEO work on point:

Links, Links, Links

Internal links are a potent SEO technique, yet they remain the most underused tactics. It helps Google crawl around your site, which it loves. But more importantly, you can choose your own anchor text which helps boost your keywords.

Optimized Images

When people are looking for specific products, they tend to use Google Images, so it pays to use correct image optimization. This means changing file names and Alt tags to include LSI keywords.

Page Titles

The most crucial factor here is to have the keyword as close to the start of the title as possible. This helps Google quickly identify what the page is about. You’ll also need to make people want to click on it.

Meta

The meta description is used to give customers an honest review of what the page is about. It’s also a great place to add some additional keywords. You need to make sure the text is engaging, so people want to click on it.

Step 04 – Link Building

This is the last step you need to take to push your eCommerce store to the top of the rankings. The aim is to gain as many high-quality/relevant links to your store as you can.

By doing this, you can increase your store’s rankings, which results in more profits for you. There are several ways you can build links, but today we are going to focus on two:

Guest Posting

It’s one of the most commonly used techniques to score links to your page. And doing it is easy, it’s just not as cheap as it used to be.

It’s used to help you build an authentic relationship between bloggers and your store.

Guest posting can be split into five easy steps:

  1. Search for opportunities using Google search
  2. Make sure the page is relevant
  3. Pitch to the blog
  4. Write engaging content with a link to your page
  5. Get the post published

Finding your guest posting opportunities takes a quick Google search; this could be by using search terms such as:

“Keyword” + Guest blogger

“Keyword” + Write for us

“Keyword” + Add guest post

Copy and paste all the results into an Excel sheet, don’t worry about the relevance just yet you can qualify them later.

Once you have a complete list, it’s time to analyse each site, to do this, you need to be thinking about a few things:

  • Niche relevance
  • Domain authority
  • Number of referring links
  • Trust flow

From there it’s a case of outreaching to each one of the sites you deem worthy. This can take some time to complete, so I recommend using tools like Ninja Outreach or Pitchbox to complete the task.

If you don’t get a reply from your first pitch, don’t give up.

A lot of blog owners are receiving a high quantity of emails; yours may have been missed. Make sure you follow up after 6-7 days. If they still don’t answer, try one more time before moving on.

Most site owners will be looking for something in return for the post.

Like I said guest posting isn’t cheap, and depending on the DA (Domain Authority) they could cost £0-120+ per post.

Analysis Your Competitors

I’ve saved the best till last; competitor analysis allows you to quickly rank your pages by replicating what the people at the top are doing. You’ll need to use Google to find the top 10 pages that are ranking for your keyword.

From there use Ahrefs to find out what backlinks they use for that page. Find all the high domain sites that are linking to it and ask yourself “what did they do to get the link.” This will give you a great idea of where to start.

Round-Up

Building an eCommerce shop is a very viable option for a second hustle in this day and age. But it does take some planning. Just remember there are four stages to building a sustainable store:

  1. Audit your site
  2. Research your keyword
  3. Clean up your on-page SEO
  4. Link build

With these four easy steps, you can build your way to success quickly and efficiently.
